He had decided that day to take a trip. Wake early in the morning, head out to the beach. For what, exactly? If you asked him that morning he couldn't tell you why he left the house that early. He couldn't tell you what he was searching for down on the beach, why he was still walking now. Brand had been endlessly walking, paws dragging in the piles of sand, endlessly keeping his eyes lowered and his nose forward. And when the cool water brushed at his paws as the tide rolled in, some kind of static bit at his flesh.
He flung his paw up, causing a rather unnecessarily large wave to crash back out towards sea. His breathing hardly settled, before he stepped back and swept his paw in the sand, causing a semicircle to sweep out in the water. Slowly, a grin touched his face as he found a purpose on this beach, the calling of the tide. He swept his paws up and out, creating shapes and waves. Creating some kind of sculpture here, freezing it, unfreezing it, bringing warm water up around his paws instead.
A sharp inhale came from his body as he suddenly fell silent, the movements and the sudden training spur as the sun brushed at the coast and rose over him. He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes and smelling the salt that came on the wind. Maybe everything would be okay after all.
