bitter tasteless - water elemental training - brandykit - 01-25-2021
He had decided that day to take a trip. Wake early in the morning, head out to the beach. For what, exactly? If you asked him that morning he couldn't tell you why he left the house that early. He couldn't tell you what he was searching for down on the beach, why he was still walking now. Brand had been endlessly walking, paws dragging in the piles of sand, endlessly keeping his eyes lowered and his nose forward. And when the cool water brushed at his paws as the tide rolled in, some kind of static bit at his flesh. ♡♡♡He flung his paw up, causing a rather unnecessarily large wave to crash back out towards sea. His breathing hardly settled, before he stepped back and swept his paw in the sand, causing a semicircle to sweep out in the water. Slowly, a grin touched his face as he found a purpose on this beach, the calling of the tide. He swept his paws up and out, creating shapes and waves. Creating some kind of sculpture here, freezing it, unfreezing it, bringing warm water up around his paws instead. A sharp inhale came from his body as he suddenly fell silent, the movements and the sudden training spur as the sun brushed at the coast and rose over him. He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes and smelling the salt that came on the wind. Maybe everything would be okay after all. To her earliest moments, even before the Typhoon. The sway of waves against a ship afloat. The humidity in the air. The salt. She has always been connected to the ocean.

While it took her time to discover that her connection went deeper than a feeling of belonging, Keona knew it came as no surprise. Not when her father too, was so deeply connected to the water. Well known among his homeland for his power to manipulate his favorite element. The Tempest Prince. It kept her connected to him too. Kept her steady. Gave her a grounding point. She often came back to the shore, when she needed a respite. Peace. Her thoughts were often busy. She kept herself busy now. Stubborn, for there was work to be done. For she didn't want it to all fall on the others, when they had close family and friends to care for. Her paws only stopped when the water finally brushed her fur. Never too deep to be swept away. But close. Connected. She felt it when the water moved away. Felt the sudden change and tilted her head. Pale sea-green hues lit in curiosity. Led to Brandyskies. "Aloha," she murmured. Simple greeting, with little else to say. Content to simply be at peace by the water. Her tail twitched idly as she pulled a wave slightly closer to her paws, then back in gentle release. Push. Pull. Steady rhythm. A heartbeat. © MADI Re: bitter tasteless - water elemental training - michael t. - 01-25-2021 The dealer had been pondering the sea and sailing when he stumbled upon both Brandy and Keona, looking up with interest. He watched as the sea twisted and swayed in response to Brandyskies's actions, and Michael couldn't help but let out a soft and impressed hum from the back of his throat. He had the ability to shape and control the earth at will – albeit with a great deal of effort – but his elementals were never quite so... graceful. Following the smaller dealer's example, the bobcat moved to sit at the edge of the water, waving a bit before he spoke, "Hey, Brandy..." He then muttered, twisting around a bit and waving a paw, watching as the sand shifted and swirled with his motions, "You're getting pretty good with your elementals, huh? Soon enough you'll be able to dunk a whole lake on people." Michael couldn't help snicker at the mental image, still swirling around the sand in a carefree manner. It felt nice to use his earth elementals casually, when it wouldn't end with a crippling migraine and a horrible nose bleed. — Reggan
