Once a decently sized trio of others had arrived to attend his lesson, Aurum found himself perking up a little, oddly enthusiastic. Although the lion had never had a particular passion for cooking, he did like teaching others new things, so this was really right up his alley. Thankfully, Clony was the type of creature to have little to no filter at all, which meant that they would ask all the questions that everyone else was too afraid of looking foolish for – this was particularly a good thing for Sib, since the hybrid seemed to stay shut up a lot of the time in an effort to not look "stupid." Aurum found himself nodding to the bat creature first, explaining as he gestured at the ingredients spread out in front of him, "Well... cake is a sweet food that's made of flour, sugar, and some other ingredients. I believe it was originally made as a variation of bread, but there are some very elaborate cakes nowadays... chocolate is just a sweet that's going to be the base of the flavor for the cake." After that little explanation, the male turned his one eyed gaze down to the whisk, a soft chuckle leaving him, "And that is a whisk. It technically is a bunch of wires, all connected to a handle. It's better for mixing ingredients than just your paws."
With those explanations out of the way, it was time to launch into the actual lesson, and the angel found himself at a bit of a loss at how to start. Eventually, he just rolled his shoulders, rumbling softly, "I suppose the first thing we'll go over is the ingredients. That way you'll all know what you'll need to make your own version of this." As he continued, he carefully moved his paw over each ingredient as he pointed it out, seeming to fall into a rhythm, "Now... the majority of this stuff is old human cooking supplies, so you might have to do some searching to find some of your own. For example, sugar, flour, baking powder and soda, cocoa powder, salt, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract are all human ingredients. Thankfully, they're all fairly common around any old run down human home, since baking was a common hobby... at least from the books I've read. Meanwhile, eggs, milk, and water are all ingredients that can be gotten more naturally, through chickens, cows, and any source of water... although you'll want it to be fresh. I doubt salty water would taste very good in any of this. You guys with me so far?" He glanced up at them questioningly, a little sheepish smile on his muzzle. He wanted to make sure that he did this right, and didn't end up with a bunch of confused students by the end.
