LIKE THE MOON SAYS TO THE DARK — Michael heard Jaime's soft pawsteps in the sand before he heard the boy's words, and already he found himself perking his ears up, eager to hear what the other had to say. He didn't think that anyone would be too disapproving of the tattoos he had gotten, especially considering they were considerably less permanent than the human variety, but he was still curious about what the rest of his family would think. Would he need to explain the meaning behind them? Would his family make fun of the sappiness of it all? He already knew the answer to that second one, though – most definitely, at least in the case of Roxie and Trygve. He doubted that Jaime would say anything unkind though, so after stretching out his short legs as much as he could, the bobcat lifted his head to look at his nephew, his smile small and slightly groggy. The sun had a way of trying to drag him under, after all, "You're right, they are new. I actually got them done today, as a matter of fact. That's why I was laying out here... I wanted to make sure that everything dried before I went laying in a bed." Well, that, and he just enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his thick fur more than the inside of a slightly warm hut.
Sitting up with a bit of effort, the thief stretched out his leg as far as it could possibly go, inspecting the intricate dagger that now lingered there. Resisting the urge to touch the pads of his paws against it, he turned his mismatched gaze back to Jaime, "I figured I might as well give the tattoo artists around here some work, especially with everything winding down now... what do you think?" — WE WILL NEVER BE APART
