YOU WANTED EVERYTHING ☆ new tattoos - michael t. - 06-21-2020

LIKE THE MOON SAYS TO THE DARK — When Trevor had told Michael that he was leaving the Typhoon, the bobcat had been devastated. He had been confused and upset, and his first reaction had been to lash out in some attempt to make himself feel better. However, as per usual, this didn't work, and the thief only ended up feeling worse when he heard the reasoning of why Trevor was leaving. Apparently Wade, the male who was like a son to the both of them, had asked to go back to their old home, and the coyote couldn't let him go alone. Upon hearing this, the anger had drained from Michael's body, and all the privateer had been able to do was bury himself in his lover's chest, muttering soft nothings about how much he would miss him. Trevor had been quick to reassure him, however, telling Michael that he would visit often, and that this didn't mean they were breaking up. The younger male had been confused by that, and had been intent on asking how they were supposed to stay together with so much distance – only for Trevor to spring a very important question on him. A question involving a ring, and the whole... together for the rest of our fucking lives thing.

Now, several days later, Michael was still sort of reeling from the events that had unfolded. He had said yes to Trevor's proposal, of course, but he had yet to tell anyone, not even Roxie. He didn't want to take away from the excitement of Sam and Goldie's wedding, after all. Still, he couldn't help but wear the gorgeous silver ring Trevor had gotten him, looking oddly out of place among the variety of gold accessories that the feline wore. Laying out on his porch, Michael stared down at his paw for a long moment before glancing back to his front door, as if he was hoping that Trevor would come barreling out to lay on top of him. He knew the other had already left, yet still the hope lingered. He also knew this didn't mean he would never see his fiance again, but it was still hard, being deprived of the love that he had become so used to. So greedy for.

Eager to take his mind off of recent events, the privateer had decided to be q little... impulsive. Not as impulsive as a human making the same decision, since their tattoos came with a much greater level of permanence and pain, but an impulsive decision nonetheless. He had been eyeing getting a tattoo from one of the several painterly tattoo artists throughout the Typhoon for a while now, but he had never really been sure what to get. Now, he knew exactly what he wanted. Something to commemorate the big events in his life, and all of the positives. The bobcat was practically a bundle of nerves as he made his requests, running to the first fairly well known artist NPC he knew of. Thankfully, the NPC wasn't busy with anything already – such as dealing with old injuries or repairs from the meteor strike – and had been willing to take him in. The next few hours had been filled with a great deal of idle chatter, as well as a whole lot of Michael forcing himself to stay still as grey and white was plastered carefully onto his dark fur. Thankfully, it wasn't too long before he left the building, a grin on his face as he mumbled out softly, "Thank you, so much..."

After that, the bobcat had headed for the beach, taking a short stroll before laying down near his house, carefully positioning himself on his right side. He allowed the sun to soak into his thick fur as he relaxed there, not only enjoying himself and admiring the view of the sea, but also allowing his tattoos some time to dry. He had gotten two of them – one, on his neck, a grey and white pair of roses. It was right where his golden necklace usually was, although it was absent for the time being. He had gotten it as a representation of the beauty of the Typhoon, as well as of the beauty of the new relationships he had made there. Then, the second tattoo, which was located on the outside of his left leg. It was a dagger, carefully painted on in white. It was meant to represent the ferocity of both himself and Trevor, as well as the danger anyone who challenged them faced. Not only that, but it was meant to match the knife tattoo that the coyote had gotten before he left. Just the thought of the symbolism to both tattoos made Michael smile slightly, and he relaxed further into the sand, sparing a brief glance towards his engagement ring before he closed his eyes. He had no doubt that it wouldn't be long before someone came over to question the new body art additions, but he would value the silence – for now. — WE WILL NEVER BE APART

JAIME ROUX
"vengeance is just hope with a history"
Jaime obviously had never had tattoos - though considering his age, there was time enough ahead for that if he so chose - and while their kind were not quite so painful and permanent as the inked kind, the only marks Jaime had retained were the long thin sliver of a scar along his lower back that his wings - for the most part - kept covered and hidden from view.

Not that he was self conscious of it, but merely he got tired of the curious or pitying gazes it would bring - after all, no child should have to bear scars - but Jaime was a survivor, that was his proof of it (life’s own versions of a tattoo perhaps)

So admittedly he was rather curious when others bore tattoos of the designed variety, often pondering at the meaning and the why of such designs - and though loath he was to interrupt a family member’s peace, he was still a curious child despite everything else

”those are new” was what he chose to say when the little jaguar padded over, not quite sure whether to ask why yet.

LIKE THE MOON SAYS TO THE DARK — Michael heard Jaime's soft pawsteps in the sand before he heard the boy's words, and already he found himself perking his ears up, eager to hear what the other had to say. He didn't think that anyone would be too disapproving of the tattoos he had gotten, especially considering they were considerably less permanent than the human variety, but he was still curious about what the rest of his family would think. Would he need to explain the meaning behind them? Would his family make fun of the sappiness of it all? He already knew the answer to that second one, though – most definitely, at least in the case of Roxie and Trygve. He doubted that Jaime would say anything unkind though, so after stretching out his short legs as much as he could, the bobcat lifted his head to look at his nephew, his smile small and slightly groggy. The sun had a way of trying to drag him under, after all, "You're right, they are new. I actually got them done today, as a matter of fact. That's why I was laying out here... I wanted to make sure that everything dried before I went laying in a bed." Well, that, and he just enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his thick fur more than the inside of a slightly warm hut.

Sitting up with a bit of effort, the thief stretched out his leg as far as it could possibly go, inspecting the intricate dagger that now lingered there. Resisting the urge to touch the pads of his paws against it, he turned his mismatched gaze back to Jaime, "I figured I might as well give the tattoo artists around here some work, especially with everything winding down now... what do you think?" — WE WILL NEVER BE APART
