☆ HUNG PICTURES OF PATRON SAINTS UP ON MY WALL TO REMIND ME THAT I AM A FOOL. TELL ME WHERE I CAME FROM, WHAT I WILL ALWAYS BE: JUST A SPOILED LITTLE KID WHO WENT TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL —
What has brought you to the knights? It was certainly an interesting question, albeit a slightly predictable one when it came to a meet and greet. What had brought him to the Knights of Concord, when it seemed as though he had a perfectly good deal back home? The question caused the lion to pause for a moment, his paw tapping against the ground in thought as he flicked his tail in greeting to Gordon. She hadn't been present for his joining, and was thus a new face to him. Sunhaven and the Ascendants? The groups sounded familiar, although the familiarity was far off, and fuzzy. He was fairly sure he had never interacted with either group, both being before the time when he had been part of Tanglewood, and instead had been stuck in his family pride. Despite this, he could remember the names from the whispers of various NPCs within Tanglewood, as well as from when they fell from the muzzles of some of the older members, keen on reminiscing. He almost felt bad for Gordon in that moment, watching her with his one blue eye. He couldn't imagine the group he loved just being gone, and not existing anymore. If Tanglewood ceased to exist... it would be like his heart ceased to exist.
With all of this in mind, Aurum turned his gaze back to Safflower, ready to answer the question asked of him. He was sure his answer would be a bit more complex than the others that had already been said, but that was okay with him. After all, what was wrong with a little bit of sentimentality? Shifting in place, the lion rumbled once Icarus was done, his one eye gleaming in the light of the garden, "I ended up in the knights because... I suppose I needed an escape. Not that I intend to be lazy or not help around here, but... in Tanglewood. I have so many responsibilities upon my shoulders. I'm the proxy, I've got a family, I've got friends to watch over... I love all of that, but it can get to be so unbearably stressful at times. It felt like being somewhere new would be good for me. Give me a new perspective on things, you know? Maybe that's a little odd, but... it's honestly why I'm here." Tanglewood would always be his home, but he couldn't deny the stresses it occasionally caused him, especially with the recent losses they had suffered.
