It was not often that Michael found himself waking up early, especially since he had moved to the Typhoon. It wasn't as if the privateer had any more schemes or plans to worry about since he had moved into his little hut, and thus waking up early became much less important than it had been in the past. Despite this, Michael still found himself shaking occasionally awake from nightmares, usually about his time as a prisoner of The Lost. Tonight was one of those bad nights, where the bobcat jolted away with a quickly cut off cry, his dark body faintly trembling in the quiet room. Aside from his shaking form, everything about his home seemed peaceful, including the sleeping form of Trevor curled around him, the coyote still fast asleep with his head resting over Michael's belly. The privateer was hesitant to move, especially when his lover seemed so comfortable, but he desperately needed some fresh air, and he didn't want another nightmare ruining Trevor's rest. Gently touching his nose to the other's forehead, the slightly chubby male slipped his way out from beneath the other carefully, paws touching the cold flooring and carrying him out the front door.
When the thief eventually emerged outside, he was surprised to see the volume of people that were already out for the day. Driven out further by confusion, Michael eventually found himself further down the beach, his mismatched blue eyes turning upward. Oh. So that was why everyone was out at this ungodly hour. A meteor shower. Michael had never seen such a thing in person before, so he actually found himself slightly stunned as he stared upward, watching the colors go by. Tearing his eyes away from the sky for only a moment, Michael noticed Miller and Roxie sitting together, his heart twisting when he spotted them. Shit, was this a thing now? He considered going over and interrupting their little stargazing together, but then decided against it, not wanting to be a total asshole. He'd let them have their fun, for now. But if Miller placed one paw out of place, he was getting a rock between the eyes.
Sighing softly, Michael glanced back towards where he knew his home to be, settling down in the sand. He considered going to get Trevor so that he could see the shower as well, but ultimately decided against it. The other deserved his rest, and it wasn't as if anything catastrophic was going to happen if Michael spent a bit of time away, to clear his head. Trevor would probably be grateful for the silence, and the chance to enjoy his sleep without someone shaking in fear beside him.
