Worm had been resting when Delilah's angry voice rang out across the entire camp, and his ears perked up in confusion at her shouting. When he heard the content of what she was saying, however, the fur along his spine rose, and he snarled as he got up to his paws, stepping out of his house just in time to hear what Selby was saying. He felt even more rage fill him, and the huge lion slowly moved down the steps to the side of the medic, gently flicking his tail against his spine as he rumbled softly to Selby, shaking his head firmly as he held back the burning rage that was building in his chest, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"Selby, no. It wasn't your fault. There's nothing you could've done to change the situation, and Arrow didn't die because you weren't there. Arrow didn't die because any of us weren't there. Arrow died because she was sick, and it wasn't something that any of us could've done anything about. It's sad, yes, but sometimes people die, and it's nobody's fault."[/glow] His voice was calm and comforting as he spoke to Selby, but the layers of warmth dropped away as his icy blue gaze flicked over to Delilah, a snarl leaving him.
He took a step towards the feline, but it wasn't meant to be threatening, just a warning for the angry barrage of words that were about to leave him. Delilah didn't have any right to be blaming any of them for Arrow's death, especially not Selby, who had rushed onto the scene and tried to help, but hadn't been able to because none of them could've helped. Tail lashing erratically behind him, the lion rumbled in a voice less akin to his normal warm tone and more akin to a harsh and angry battle roar, his eyes narrowed, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"And you. What fucking right do you think you have to blame any of us for Arrow's death? None of us could've done anything and I know you know that deep down! If you wanna talk about being here, where the fuck were you this whole time? You weren't around for Arrow either, and guess what? Even if you had been, it wouldn't have mattered because we couldn't do anything! It's fine if you're mourning, I'm sure a lot of us are, but this isn't the way to fucking go about it. You don't blame everybody else for your emotions, and you don't act like it was our faults' Arrow died, because it wasn't. Tear yourself apart if you really fucking want to, but don't drag innocent people into your guilt and grieving just because you want the rest of to feel even more awful than we already did. Get a fucking hold of yourself, Delilah."[/glow] He minced no words and pulled no punches, the anger that had seized him upon seeing Selby beating himself up still burning in his sky blue eyes. He liked Delilah, and he also knew that she was better than this, and he wasn't going to let her try to drag everyone else down with her.
