❝ YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN — YOUR SILENCE IS MY FAVORITE SOUND ❞
Pincher knew he would never be able to protect Goldie from everything cruel in this world. He knew that he couldn't protect everyone he loved from the dangers that once had to face to grow up and learned. But he wanted to lessen the pain of it all. That they wouldn't suffer too much from their experiences with whatever theats they faced. He didn't know why anyone would hurt his daughter, the one that reminded him of morning rays of sunshine and the one that caused the ice around his heart to melt to be open for love and care of others. He had been foolish. So foolish. Letting his work swallow him while he busied over, to cause his attention to hone down on just work. Part of him wished he didn't have so much especially with the growing family he had. He knew it appeared that he may not care, that he may not want to be with them or support him but everything he did, he did out of love. He just wished he had more time. More time in the day to step back and allow himself to be there for his family when they needed him. Maybe it would have prevented this to happen.
He had felt Goldie had been gone for a bit too long for his liking when she had not come in to visit or grab something from their home to take and show others. He knew that his daughter wanted to prove that despite being sickly, she could still be around and productive but he wished for her to settle and relax, to let her system flush out whatever bad was hurting her health. But like father, like daughter, she seemed to be stubborn in relaxing and aimed on contiuing against his soft lecturing that she shouldn't push herself too hard. That she shouldn't think that work lead to happiness but he slowly came to the realization that she was taking after him when he had been a child. She wanted to be better, to show that despite she was just a child, that she could do anything anyone did but better. That ambition was something of a Roux curse, the family filled with so much ambition and want to become more than it was suffocating and self-destructive if one allowed themselves to sink into it. He wished Goldie knew he was proud of her no matter what, that he was proud of every single child he had created with others because they were what made he want to the best he could be.
Without Goldie's warm voice filling the submarine's air, it felt like the cold realization of her absence was suffocating him and the male began to struggle in concentrating. He chewed on his lower lip, gnawing on the soft flesh while wondering what she was probably doing. He had heard of her sudden collapse from exhaustion and his worry had only heightened his worry for his daughter before he could no longer take it, his left ear furiously twitching as he waited. Finally, he pried himself off his paperwork, the soft shuffling of the papers rubbing against each other as he walked away from the desk and out of the dark submarine, his fictional eyebrows furrowing as the brightness of the sunlight struck his sensitive eyesight. He glanced around for a while, stalking quietly while turning his head around to find his daughter but all he saw was his crewmates mingling, having fun or simply working on whatever. Then he heard her scream.
It caused his entire body to freeze, every muscle shifting to lock into place to his exact position where his form went rigid and he was trapped in the state of horrofied shock. The last thing a parent wanted to hear was the scream filled with pain from their child. If he had held an actual heart in his chest, it would have lurched and flown out ouf his chest but all he felt was his chest cave in, crashing and sinking into the pit of his stomach and he realized that the feeling was much worse. He stumbled back, his vision suddenly blurring as he felt the adrenaline rush through him faster than he was used to. Before he knew it, the male felt his body suddenly feel sickly and drunken as if he had been swimming in a sea of nausea and alcohol. He gave his head a heavy shake before turning towards the direction, not even moving to run but teleport as far as he could towards her call. She had to be okay, she had to. His throat clenched as he grew close to the voices, almost crashing into Lucifer but he ducked his head as the muscular jaguar rushed to halt beside Rosemary with his cyan blue eyes wide with horror at the sight of his daughter.
"Goldie! Oh my god..S-Sweetie." He breathed, his usual steady voice shaky and full of...fear. His broad tattooed shoulders trembled as he went into a crouching position with his dark ash gray fur bristling as he couldn't help but be in a state of shock. He knew it wasn't good to just sit there and let his daughter die so he forced himself to tear his gaze away to glance at the healers with wide pleading eyes as he stammered "I-Is there a-anything I c-can do?" His dark ink black ears pinned to his skull as he turned back to his daughter, aiming to softly brush his nose against her.
