Contrary to what she imagined popular belief would be, the sand cat did not mind the cold. She was built for freezing temperatures, even if she was not necessarily used to snow, specifically. She had survived a frozen desert before, and the Demdji was, after all, built for the cold nights of such places. It was more likely than not, for the young fem to be spotted outside, in the snow, than inside. She spent a great deal of time, wandering, pacing, hunting, and just existing outside.
It helped her think. It gave her something to do while she worked through memories and the thoughts plaguing her mind. Tena had a nice enough family; a loving mother, a kind older brother, good friends. Her father was an enigma. A djinn, who she did not know, or did not remember. Perhaps that was for the better. Life had been... Hard. The sand cat had been lucky too, though it did not dissolve the bitterness of being bought or sold in the first place, to go to the Depur who owned her brother. She had family under the same roof. But she had ruined it... Tena was not the kind to sit and take much of anything; so she left. She ran. She ran and she left them behind, and it haunted her.
She'd been a problem child. Loud. Out-spoken. Rebellious. It had only been a matter of time before she crossed the line. Still, she fretted that she had made things worse when she left, and she would never know. At least her brother had escaped that life as well, wherever he was.
Flicking her tail, the Demdji raised a brow as she approached the group. Unusual to see so many out and about in the cold, but... Well, it was always cold here, wasn't it? At least compared to some places. "Hey," she murmured in greeting, distinct blue eyes noting each Snowbounder in turn. "If the cold was bothersome, it wouldn't be a good life choice to live out here," she pointed out idly, a trace of an amused smile tugging at her maw.
