Cory hadn’t gotten far since the altercation. He had taken Vintara back to his room and gotten him acquainted back in his little bed. Since it was only about midday, he expected to be followed, but at least he tried. Having his minuscule family back brought him a sense of warmth, which he had lacked in a long time. All he had felt in his time away was cold and unforgiving pain. Now, maybe he could be normal again.
Cory was lumbering by with a bucket full of water, planning on offering it to some of the sick clanmates he knew about since his return, when he heard Solsken speak, though it was hardly above a whisper. He found that odd, considering how outspoken they had been mere moments ago. Turning to face Seven’s house, he could see the blind tigress just over Solsken’s shoulder. Her body language reeked of anxiety, something the dragon knew all too well.
He glanced to the direction he planned on going in, and then Seven’s house. He frowned, knowing this was his fault. Moving closer and setting the bucket down on her porch, he glanced at the two knowingly. “I’m sorry, this is probably my fault. This is for Seven,” he told Solsken. Then, glancing to the blind tigress, a sorrowful look she would never know appeared upon his face.
“Unless Seven wants me to stay, I’ll go back to what I was doing.”
