Truth be told, Aurum knew that he wasn't a spectacular cook. That wasn't to say that he was terrible at it, or anything. No, he was basically just... about average. He had learned how to make a couple of recipes in order to serve them at the tavern, or in order to feed himself and his children something that wasn't raw, but that was mainly just what he thought of cooking as – a tool. He knew some people loved cooking and baking, and practically did both religiously, but he just wasn't that kind of male. Maybe it was just because he had always been so busy with his other duties, or maybe just because he had plenty of other hobbies, but he mainly tended to see cooking as a necessity, rather than an enjoyable little activity. He couldn't help but wonder if maybe someone who really and truly loved cooking would be better qualified to host such a lesson, but he pushed that aside for the moment. After all, no one else had been assigned this task. It had been him, and he was going to see it through, even if it meant he had to struggle through it a bit.
After a morning spent gathering ingredients from various buildings and outdoor sources, Aurum finally felt as though he had everything he needed for what he was going to demonstrate – how to make a chocolate cake. Sure, technically this was baking and not cooking, but he figured Clony would appreciate the cake nonetheless, and it was something he had been interested in doing for a while. He had always had a bit of a sweet tooth, and the idea of making a big cake for everyone while also teaching them something they could use in the future... well, it was definitely appealing. So, the lion had dragged out a long table in front of his small home within Elysium, and had set up everything they would need on it. The ingredients, various bowls and utensils, a whisk... the only thing he hadn't dragged out was the means of cooking it, since he wasn't particularly intent on dragging an old gas oven out of his home. Once everything was set up, Aurum had taken up residence in his teaching spot just behind the table, resting his front limbs on it as he raised his voice to call out, "Anybody who wants to learn how to bake a chocolate cake, come over here! I'm gonna give a step by step lesson and demonstration." The actual cooking in the oven parts would obviously be pretty boring and straightforward, but he didn't really think he needed to teach anything there.
