☆ HUNG PICTURES OF PATRON SAINTS UP ON MY WALL TO REMIND ME THAT I AM A FOOL. TELL ME WHERE I CAME FROM, WHAT I WILL ALWAYS BE: JUST A SPOILED LITTLE KID WHO WENT TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL —
Aurum had noticed recently that there was a new member in Tanglewood. That in and of itself wasn't strange, but what was interesting was that this new member had wings. The proxy had wings, yes, but he didn't have wings like Evarhi. No, where Evarhi's were wide and draconic, Aurum's were light and feathered. Despite this, the angel knew that both sets of wings would carry both of them just fine. He had found himself wondering, however, if Evarhi knew how to use his wings. Evarhi was only a boy, and although Aurum's wings had developed later in life, it had been a steep learning curve for him to learn how to fly properly with them. A curve that had only grown even more steep when Aurum had lost one of his eyes, knocking off his depth perception considerably. He had eventually adapted, but he had spent several days after the Beck incident struggling to regain the usual casual nature of flight, fighting against the way his mind perceived the world slightly wrong. Hopefully Evarhi wouldn't have any such worries, but Aurum also felt as though it would be good to be prepared. Flight could be infinitely useful, not only for getting around quickly, but also getting away from danger quickly. A skill that was very useful for a boy such as Evarhi.
So, once Aurum had regained his ability to shift into his winged lion form, he had gone to seek out Evarhi, asking around to figure out where the other had decided to settle. There were many empty houses still within Tanglewood, so it really could've been anywhere. When he eventually figured out where the other was, he made his way there slowly, stretching out his wings and preparing them for the potential exercise of a full lesson. Raising a paw, the proxy knocked against the door he had been directed to, rumbling softly as he did so, "Evarhi? You in there? It's Aurum. I was wondering if you knew how to fly with those wings of yours... and if you didn't, I figured I'd offer some lessons." That was simple enough, and to the point, which seemed like the kind of communication someone like Evarhi would appreciate.
