A spotted tail hung, curled upwards, off the branch of a tree. The tiny figure connected, her ears perked attentively, sea-green hues flickering, clearly did not belong somewhere up so high. Short, razor sharp claws hooked cautiously in the bark, maintaining balance. The same claws had made the trip up. A trip attempted a few times before, but never with great success.
Instinctively speaking, trees were safe places. Above the ground. If her eyes had worked, Keona would have a vantage point other small felines would consider advantageous. Necessary. A high view point meant dangers or prey spotted more easily. For the young fae however, it simply meant her paws had left the familiarity of the ground. There was something relaxing, knowing she had her claws hooked into something stable, that withheld the often panic that gripped her in high places.
The sound was different in the trees. The birds felt closer. Still. Keona kept her claws firmly embedded. She could get used to this perhaps but for now... She just did not know how to get herself down. Did she go the same way she came? Unease settled into her stomach. How would that work? Would she have to face down, or climb backwards? Did she jump? Her heart skipped a beat. Definitely not.
