//OOC
This place was new to many people. There were many things to find, many nooks and crannies to discover. While tidying up an area in the Grand Circle, Starrynight had come across a key. What did it belong to? There were many locked doors in the complex. No doubt finding the door the key belonged to would take a long time. Yet, despite the initial thought, finding the door had been a lucky shot. It was the first door he'd tried. The Astral Seraph had always wondered what lay beyond the white door, and as he shoved it open and wriggled his way inside, his jaws gaped open in shock.
Quiet machines stretched across the far wall, covered in buttons. Several overturned chairs lay scattered across the floor. Monitoring screens, many dark, were covering the walls. Stepping across the gray floor, he approached the mechanical objects. It was a control room! But what did it control?
Crouching down, Starrynight leaped upward to scramble on top of the desk. One scrabbling paw flicked a bright blue switch as he hauled himself up. For a moment all was silent as he caught his breath, when a deafening series of clicks sounded throughout the room. Outside, the squeal of metal against metal rumbled throughout the observatory. After failing to block out the noise, the feline half-leaped, half-fell to the floor in his haste to go see what was causing the commotion. What did he do?
Once he squeezed through the door again, the mutant stopped dead in his tracks, eyes drifting upward. The ceiling was moving. Split perfectly in two, the ceiling steadily moved downward as light shone through, illuminating the observatory with bright sunlight. The dome seemed to fold in on itself, sections fitting into each other as more and more sky was revealed above. With a rumble that shook the complex, the observatory settled to a standstill as the entire ceiling disappeared. A gentle breeze rustled through the exposed room. His ears were ringing, heart pounding from the startling event.
