ALL AROUND ME // o, important discovery - Starrynight ! - 03-24-2018

[/div][/div]
//OOC

This place was new to many people. There were many things to find, many nooks and crannies to discover. While tidying up an area in the Grand Circle, Starrynight had come across a key. What did it belong to? There were many locked doors in the complex. No doubt finding the door the key belonged to would take a long time. Yet, despite the initial thought, finding the door had been a lucky shot. It was the first door he'd tried. The Astral Seraph had always wondered what lay beyond the white door, and as he shoved it open and wriggled his way inside, his jaws gaped open in shock.

Quiet machines stretched across the far wall, covered in buttons. Several overturned chairs lay scattered across the floor. Monitoring screens, many dark, were covering the walls. Stepping across the gray floor, he approached the mechanical objects. It was a control room! But what did it control?

Crouching down, Starrynight leaped upward to scramble on top of the desk. One scrabbling paw flicked a bright blue switch as he hauled himself up. For a moment all was silent as he caught his breath, when a deafening series of clicks sounded throughout the room. Outside, the squeal of metal against metal rumbled throughout the observatory. After failing to block out the noise, the feline half-leaped, half-fell to the floor in his haste to go see what was causing the commotion. What did he do?

Once he squeezed through the door again, the mutant stopped dead in his tracks, eyes drifting upward. The ceiling was moving. Split perfectly in two, the ceiling steadily moved downward as light shone through, illuminating the observatory with bright sunlight. The dome seemed to fold in on itself, sections fitting into each other as more and more sky was revealed above. With a rumble that shook the complex, the observatory settled to a standstill as the entire ceiling disappeared. A gentle breeze rustled through the exposed room. His ears were ringing, heart pounding from the startling event.

"DAMN DUDE." tags
Immortal was enjoying his stay so far and while it was hard not to enjoy when he wasn't plagued with the shit that was his old home, he was really glad he chose to this place to settle. So far, people seemed friendly and the Observatory was the coolest he'd seen in a while. The only thing that could make the place better was any access to a lighter, but he hadn't found one yet, so he mainly tried to find other things to distract himself with. The moments before the ceiling started moving, the serval was slowly making his way down the picture room, making dramatic and grand gestures of 'judging' the pictures that were there so far. The commentary went on his head, so he didn't appear to be talking to himself. However, the incredibly loud and sudden screeching of metal put an immediate stop to his thoughts. He jumped, crouching low to the ground with his ears pressed back while he glanced around wildly. Ears still pinned against his hat, which didn't help much with the annoying sound, he stood and spun around, darting down the hall back into the main area of the complex. Immediately his eyes were drawn upward when light that shouldn't have been there was spilling through. Another moment or so passed before a smile spread across his maw. Just after everything grew still, he bounced and vocalized his feelings on the matter. "DUDE, THAT'S AWESOME!"

[div style="width: 450px; height: 350px; text-align: justify; padding: 8px; overflow: auto;"] Phobeus had been exploring the new clan and so far, it'd been great! certainly less muddy and less..gator-y than Tanglewood, it was nice. The young clouded leopard had been watching his new clanmates pass by for a bit and decided 'what the heck' and wandered into what he was told was the Observatory..wasn't that a place you'd look at stars? eh.
The young male would skip into the observatory, plopping himself down and beginning to relax when his head just filled with the screeching sound of grinding metal. He'd cover his ears with his paws for a few moments before the sound subsided and only left him with a little pain in his ears.

"woah.." He would murmur and gaze at the now open top, mouth ajar. It seemed to take a bit for everybody to figure themselves out but the general feeling was definitely expressed by whoever had called out. "This is fantastic,
my dude! Congrats on discovering it!

Luna had taken note of the mysterious white door- yet she didn't want to see what was behind it. So she just stayed away from the door and attempted to get some shut-eye.

When the Astral Seraph squeezed his way through the entrance of the door- she had caught a brief glimpse of a.. Control room? What was it for? Maybe it had something to do with the Observatory. The female slowly got to her paws and she looked upwards as the ceiling began to fold- revealing the blue skies. She could only watch in amazement.

Bastille didn't particular like closed spaces. He wasn't horribly opposed, and understood that indoor camps were much more secure and safe than outdoors ones, but still -- he needed his time out and about. He patrolled frequently or simply practiced outside if he had no where else to be, if only to get some air and get out of the Observatory. Everywhere his souls had lived had been outdoors, so perhaps the aversion was simply inherent (much as he hated to admit it).

He was out hunting early that day, unwilling to hang about inside -- he spent several hours first patrolling and checking over the borders, as if he might discover something new; met a client to strip a quick memory; and now here he was, finally returning to camp with his catches of the day. He was almost back to the Observatory when the entire thing started to shift, and Bastille stopped for a brief moment to watch before he took off running.

After a quick drop of his prey, the bengal was finding his way to the others, stare flickering around quickly as he assessed the threat level. No one seemed to be panicking, so he relaxed slightly and asked, "What was that? Did we do that?"
