    ASHES ON THE MOUNTAIN
It hadn't taken her long to find a suitable home (to her it was suitable, her husband would've gone mad with all the dust and cobwebs that lay about), but even after she cleaned it up and set her stuff down, she knew it wasn't yet complete. There was just two things left to do, and it took her a while to find the suitable materials. Between hunting and gathering herbs for Moth (something she didn't have to do but simply did it out of habit), Steel collected bones, vines, and several round rocks from the territory.

Walking up her porch and sitting down on the wood, she took the bag that sat against her chest and set it down next to her, looking fondly at it before taking a few rib bones and vine and slowly wrapping the bones up and tying them together, a hushed prayer leaving her lips in strange tongue.

She would continue this for a while, making triangular formations using her good talon while her injured one clutched at the stairs, arm poised around the small bag she held so dear, protective. Examining the formations with a critical eye, she set aside the ones that were crooked and misaligned, for they would not do for her war deity. Unhooking her clenched talon from the stairs she stood up, taking the bag into her grasp and began to turn around. It was when she heard someone's steps on the stairs below that she halted, turning around halfway. [color=#e57f7f]"Hello, is there anything I can help with?"

With how busy Aurum had been as of late, he hadn't exactly noticed where Steel had decided to make her home. His attention was on other things, such as his plans for what to do about The Pitt, and his worries over his approaching children. It didn't feel as though anything was wrong, but he still found himself full of anxiety, wondering if the constant stress of being luminary was doing anything to them. With a heavy sigh of stress leaving the tigress's lungs, he paused when he heard shifting sounds nearby, signaling some kind of activity. Looking up at the porch of the nearby house, he was surprised to see Steel there, having previously marked down the place as uninhabited in his head. Wondering what the newcomer was doing, he stepped slowly up towards the other, porch stairs creaking beneath him.

Pausing as Steel turned halfway towards him, Aurum rumbled softly, "Hello there, Steel. I was just coming to check on what you were working on... I don't need any help, as far as I know. So I guess you've decided to make this place your home?" He glanced up at the previously uninhabited building, silently noting that this was where he could find her in the future. His blue gaze then moved towards the strange little bundles she was making into triangular formations, questioning, "What are those...? Not sure I've ever seen anything like them..." While he had witnessed Elsweyr's religious rituals in the past, it hadn't been like this, and he certainly didn't make things for any deities. Despite being an angel, he had never been particularly interested in devoting himself to one particular deity.
you can be an angel of mercy, or give in to hate. you can try to fight it, just like every other careless mistake.

    "Those are pretty cool."

Arrow was nosy, she couldn't help it. She heard Steel and Aurum talking, and really wanted to see what it was all about. What she found was little triangles of bone and vine, ghostly pupils widening in interest like she was a small child. She looked at her paws, then back at Steel, as if amazed that she could craft something like that. Not that crafting was new to her, it was not, but it did catch her attention every time. She could barely go searching for bits and pieces of shiny scraps in the junkyard without falling over, crafting intricate anything was way beyond her. Despite not really being let in, the ghost paced around the discarded misaligned creations, snickering to herself amusedly. "If you don't have any use for these guys, I might know a place in my pad that they'd look good."

Tired eyes widened gently at the sight before her, head turning to face Aurum and Arrow. [color=#e6f3fa]"Ah, hello you two. Oh, these?" She picked up a triangle formation and twirled it in her good talon. [color=#e6f3fa]"Parts of an altar. I'll make a bigger pyramid out of them and use rocks to keep it in place. It's for a deity I follow- woa- woah!" Her other talon lost it's grip on the spear somehow, releasing just enough to knock balance for a moment. The pieces clattered onto the porch and the bag she was holding slipped from her talon, falling onto the floor with a subtle thump.

A small pile of grey dust seemed to puff out, and that, of all things, sent Steel into a moment of panic. She tossed the spear and bone figures aside, everyone else forgotten as she grasped at the bag and the dust, picking up as much of the dust as possible and putting it back into the bag. With a deep sigh, she felt her cheeks flush under the scales and she shakily picked up the spear and triangle figures, forcing herself to steel a calm look as she turned her gaze to Arrow. [color=#e6f3fa]"Uhm.. yes, you can have the scraps. I won't have any use for them."

how could you be what i want to see?・°☆

The clatter is what brings the short vulpine over, dropping a few of the items he was moving into his own new shared abode onto the stoop to go wandering over to another building. He pokes his head in, remembering only then that maybe it's a bit rude to just go barging into someone's house. When he sees others he feels a little less weird, especially when he realizes one of the guests is the leader and the other isn't actually alive.

And what can a ghost do with scraps?  Mulder is so caught up in the fact that she is an actual ghost just walking about chatting that he doesn't even realize it's one of the members from his joining but maybe that's a good thing. He surely wouldn't be able to shut up about it. Either way, hell of a house warming.

Mulder only catches the last part of Steel's frantic movements to recover her fallen powder as well as something about an alter and the fox's nose scrunches up some in thought. Whatever that is, it's clearly important to her and he's not discrete enough not to ask. [b]"Hey, name's Mulder. Kinda just let myself in, sorry. What's that stuff for? Something for your deity?"
Out of all of the crazy theories he espouses, Mulder doesn't actually believe in any gods. Well, not as gods. He believes in powerful creatures that might claim that title but it doesn't make it any less interested in what others believe.

Mulder used to be a little spiteful about that. How some people could talk him down about his "crazy" ideas then turn around and worship even crazier things but he's all, "shall not toss stones in glass houses" and all that crap now. Some of Barghest's old must be rubbing off on him. Quietly, he tries to get a little sniff of whatever could have fallen out o that bag. Not too hard, because he doesn't know what sort of residue he could be snorting up. Even if it's nothing dangerous, it could be bone ash or something, and he doesn't need dead people up his nose.
