They had recently reappeared. This time, they were visible, almost transparent- but visible. The black cat slowly stepped towards the huts. It was definitely spooky enough, seeing as their paws didn't truly touch their ground, but it disturbed the sand and grass they stepped on. Their eyes shifted to the left and right, before finally landing upon one. Burnt scorch marks still riddled the ground in front of this hut, and slowly, the Spirit stepped up the front steps. The cushions were still on the porch, stepping into the living room.

Up the stairs they went, lumbering and walking slowly. It smelled like acidic dust and mildew in the room, looking at the bed. The spirit had stood still and stared for a long moment, their form almost unmoving. They turned their head, locating the picture frame. Slowly, their head cocked to the side, and the spirit stepped forward, wrapping their teeth around the top and sinking down, picking it up. Dust and.. burnt. It smelled burnt, in this entire room, the stink of cigarettes still riddling the floorboards.

When the reappeared out of the front door, they carried the picture frame with the image of a golden tiger and doberman pressed together. They set it down, coming down the steps and looking up at the picture as it sat on the front porch. The spirit then stayed still, staring at it for about ten minutes, unmoving. Their head dipped down, slowly, and they disappeared, turning invisible.

If someone listened closely, they could hear the crying of the spirit, ever so soft but barely existing.

// they're still in the area, just invisible now!

    IF MY LIFE IS GOING
    TO MEAN ANYTHING,
    I HAVE TO LIVE IT
    MYSELF.
    tiguar . adult . he/him
    demigod of the deep
Seabound's paws tended to lead him past this home, the one that he'd known many months ago. He never went in, didn't have the heart to enter the one building that held so many memories. It seemed to be a trend in his family to avoid it, one he didn't know the extent of. The brightly colored tiguar let his eyes scan across it as he passed, stumbling as he did. What was that on the porch?

He huffed and headed towards it, frustrated that someone was tampering with it. Frustrations grew as he figured out what it was, the image framed causing an ache deep in his chest. Shell-covered tail lashed in frustration as he gently lifted it with a paw. "Why can't people leave what's not theirs alone?" he grumbled, sitting down as he stared down at the image of his mothers. He contemplated taking it with him, keeping it for himself. But, it didn't feel right, taking things out of the home.

His attention lifted from it at the sound of soft crying, face scrunching in worry. "Hello?" he called out softly, standing and setting the image down. "Who's there?" he called out, confused as he looked around and saw nobody. Were they in the house?

Roxanne moved through houses quite a lot but mainly due to her family expanding greatly, a soft huff leaving her at that thought alone. The only place that she found herself avoiding was the captains quarters mainly since she didn't feel like she belonged there... Even if she was already leading the Typhoon for a month now, she would likely go inside when she was ready... But for now, she would work from within her old office within the ship. She had been walking along the beach holding a few papers in her maw and was heading over to the ship when she noticed Seabound was near the house, a frown on her maw. She knew that most of those that had been familiar with Sam avoided that house like the plague.

She shuffled her paws slowly before making her way over with a light riot of her head, she spat out the papers only to slam one of her small paws on top of it "What's the problem, Sea?" She inquired only to find that her frown only grew at the sight of the picture of Sam and Goldie, she was about to say something else until the sound of someone sobbing quietly made the fur on her spine rise "Uhm hello?"

Confusion over unseen voices had occurred once before.  Fairly recently.  Enough so that the tiny dealer perked her ears in curiosity.  Seabound and Roxanne both seemed to hear someone but could not see them.  Not an issue for the petite wildcat.  If someone was there, she'd know.

Quietly, she trotted over, joining the duo.  Keona knew the house.  Not as filled with pain as it was for some others.  But recognized it well enough.  And the presence too.  She remembered from before.  "... 's them again," she murmured.  Keeping her voice soft but inclining her head towards Seabound and Roxanne.

"... Aloha." Still soft, but direct.  Keona knew for sure they were there.  And they sounded... Sad.  "... What's wrong?" A little awkward.  But hopeful she could incite an answer.  A conversation.  Make it better perhaps.

DEAR FRIEND as you know,  your flowers are withering
your mother's gone insane, your leaves have drifted away.
but the clouds are clearing up
and i've come reveling, burning incandescently,
like a bastard on the burning sea.

    YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER,
    BURIED DEEP UNDER THE WATER.
It was fairly obvious why Goldenluxury avoided this house, even after losing the memories she contained throughout her three-year long lifespan. The feeling of the storm, the tragedy had not left her. It still swirled around, made her dizzy and sickly. And the reaction her body had when she'd entered this house last...it terrified her to be around it now. But hearing the voices in the direction of it, she grew concerned, curious. She thought maybe at first it was just near the area, not necessarily at the porch, and so she would approach, wishing to know what was being discussed, wanting to make sure nothing had happened. But, as she sees the small group gathered at the entrance of the home, she'd pause for a moment, paws becoming ever so slightly shaky. There was some sort of detached cry in the air, and her ears would pin to her head. She considers right then and there simply turning around, leaving this for another day, another conversation. But, as she sees Keona investigate further, she ultimately finds herself growing closer, slowly, hesitantly. Still, she'd stand several feet away from the group, eyes avoiding the porch.

She doesn't say anything, has nothing to add. Simply stands there to observe, wishes to know what was happening. Keona mentions it being someone they'd encountered before, and her mind would drift to the strange encounter they'd had not long before on the beach. But she didn't understand how anyone could be there. They couldn't smell them, couldn't see them, couldn't feel them. Only heard a strange sound. How did they know it was not something creaking, a strange breeze they hadn't realized was there, an animal in the ocean? Her shaky paws shuffle, trying to keep herself busy as they unravel whatever exactly was happening.
NOTHING'S EVER LOST  FOREVER,  IT'S  JUST  HIDING IN THE RECESS OF YOUR MIND AND WHEN YOU NEED IT,  IT WILL  COME  TO  YOU  AT  NIGHT.  I MISS THE YELLOW. I MISS THE  YELLING  AND  THE  SHAKEDOWN. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, NO,  I GOT A BETTER SET OF KNIVES NOW.  I MISS MY DRUMMER,  MY DEAD STEPBROTHER,  AND THE PIT CROWD.  AND CHUCK AND MATTY  -  IF  THEY  COULD  SEE    ME    THEY'D  BE  SO  PROUD.

ALL I FOUND THE SPACE BETWEEN THE SPACES
STANDING IN THE NOTHING, AND TIME RECLAIMS YOU
The spirit. Michael hadn't thought much about them, ever since the initial encounter where they had made themselves known. Obviously he didn't have much reason to think about them, considering he didn't know who they had once been, and he had a few things popping up in his life recently that had made caring... difficult. He obviously cared about his family and the rest of The Typhoon, but when he could hardly make his way out of bed most days, he didn't let thoughts of strangers linger on his mind.

Much like the rest of those that had already gathered near the captain's former home, Michael didn't exactly make a habit of going near the building. It only brought up bad memories for him, and nowadays, also made him think about when Goldie had her entire mind intact, along with all of her memories. While the dealer was happy to get to know Goldie again, he couldn't deny that he missed the days where his niece had known everything she was meant to. He still looked up to her greatly - perhaps even more so, considering how strong she still was, even after losing her memories - but it wasn't quite the same. He didn't want to be reminded of that past over and over again, so he avoided Goldie's old home like the plague, instead preferring to just stay around the golden tigress herself.

However, it seemed as though he couldn't just avoid the old house entirely this time. He had just been passing by when he noticed the crowd slowly gathering on the porch, a frown tugging at the corners of his muzzle. Even Goldie was there, a fact that immediately set the dealer on edge considering what had happened the last time she was there. With quick and short steps, Michael made his way over to where Goldie stood, pressing into his niece's side in the most comforting manner he could manage. He still felt exhausted, but he cared more for her feelings over his own right now. He the muttered, his mismatched gaze looking through the blank air as he spoke, "They're here again...? Do we know what they want?" As he took in the fact that the spirit was crying, he then added on, "...They don't seem well." Although he couldn't say that he blamed them. After all, it must've sucked to be a ghost, all on your own.

The arrival of Seabound made the cries slowly taper off. The Spirit turned to gaze at them, slowly, thinking, searching. The colorful pelt, the scent of salt water on the air- the spirit knew them. Knew them in the sense they had once known them. Seabound was not someone she knew by memory, but by thought, by scent- connections, in past years. The spirit's eyes drifted over them, and for a brief moment, considered revealing themselves.

But others approached, and they shied away, stepping backwards and flattening their ears. The spirit's head turned, and slowly they started to back up, to walk away. Roxanne had come, but then came Keona. The only one they could truly communicate with, truly be seen by. The spirit knew this, at this point. Their head turned, and silent they fell again, before slowly trying to work their jaw, force any kind of sentence to form.

Months of screaming in the Abyss made them forget how to do just that.

What's wrong? The question itself made the spirit pause. Slowly, their vision meekly turned towards the pictured frame, the silver eyes searching it for a long moment, before she looked back towards Keona. "Past." What past? What was truly theirs, here, to remember? To think about. Their head turned again, staring at the picture frame. Their eyes turned, once again, towards the next two that approached. Another step backwards, as if it was curdling fear this time.

That golden tiger seemed to cause an adverse reaction. Their teeth grit, their fur standing on end. Suddenly, the black vision was visible, inky black and slightly see through. Their eyes widened, then narrowed. "Forgotten." Was the next word to be spat from their grit teeth, focused intently on Goldie. The spirit hadn't stepped forward, but certainly appearing alone would have been enough to set everyone in motion.
