when they felt him pull away, they knew that they had said the wrong thing, that he would run from them, that they had lost their only friend in this group. dropping their head to their own paws, the jaguar listened silently with pain in their expression. anyone but them. they loved idyll, they weren't going to give up on their affections and desire to share a life with the coyote. i guess we were never meant to be. if things were going to be this way, than no, they didn't belong together.

they can have you. that was worse than any injury they'd obtained in their years. putting their nose under their paw, they let their mind poison itself, grief in their eyes as they listened to him before he disappeared. greater things. they had nothing here. he was the only reason that they had stayed in the long shot after losing everyone that had ever mattered to them. ramona would be leaving with rene, they already knew. they would be alone except for eclipse and she ... needed somewhere safer than the pitt to grow up in. a sob wrenching its way from their unwilling lungs, they snarled and clawed the ground, aching and burning to turn the sorrow and splitting pain in their heart to rage.

he would not be theirs and never again would they feel for him. it had been a waste of time, ever loving him. he was a man stuck in his own ways, a man who focused too hard on too many things. he would be the fool for so many, be the fool for others. and let him be, they would not let themselves be affected by such foolish affections for him any longer. he was not meant to be theirs as he had so bluntly pointed out. shaking their head wordlessly to dry the tears, the feline allowed their body to return to its more natural form, the dragon curled up about their pearl with their tail hanging over the edge of the building.

closing their eyes, they let the disappointment of an evening roil in their mind before pushing it aside, instead turning to focus on their options. nothing remained for them here, they may as well leave soon, they weren't going to chase those who didn't want to stay or feel what needed to be felt. now ... what to do? they settled to planning, pain and sorrow turned into anger and a decision.
