She told Ikaia she knew where home was. She was not lost. Truthfully, the petite vixen got lost before he even started talking to and their expedition began. Yet she'd bit the inside of her cheek and announced firmly she knew her way back home, fiercely determined to prove herself a talented explorer like her new friend.— aine | the pitt | fae druid —
She followed him instead. With some difficulty, as her bright, hazel hues lost track of him multiple times as he grew too fuzzy to focus on. Unfortunately, she reached his home far after he did.
She shuffled charcoal paws over each other, glancing around sharply. Fresh salt air filled her senses; unfamiliar but not unpleasant. In the distance, waves, moving with the pull of the tide. With better eyes she might've seen the moon reflected in those waters, not so far away from the tracks.
Instead, she spotted the bells. Aine stepped back, ears flicking down. Bells seemed loud. She didn't want a lot of attention. Especially late into the night. She whimpered softly, uncertain before creeping up towards the gate.
Softly, she called out a hesitant, "h-hello?" Would someone hear? Would they be a nice pirate, like Ikaia? Or scary, like their captain? Aine quickly resumed shuffling her paws, wondering if she'd made a mistake.
She wanted to be home.
