Through the wind does the sound cut, echoing and melancholy though there is a tone there, one which speaks of excitement. It is no song of grief, it is the call of the hunt.
Lips peel back from teeth and all at once stark body is moving, pace quick as paws tear at the spongy texture of the dampened soil, huffed breath escaping parted jaws. Before him is little more than a smear of brown, an elk driven into a frenzy of fear, kicking out as he gets to close, trying so desperately to escape the creature which runs behind it. Yet there is no hope now for on the pair move, circling around the territory and moving closer to the mansion, the snap of teeth terrifying to the startled doe, pulling away from the canine.
From the depths of his throat laughter seems to raise, heart beating a tattoo upon his ribs, body stretching out to make each stride before it is drawn back together, springing forward with little effort. He lived for this, the feeling of wind coursing through his fur, the stench of fear heavy in his nostrils as he leans forward and snaps at his prey, feeling the heat of it, startled into moving faster. Sooner or later it would falter, twist a leg in an attempt to pull away once more, all he had to do was wait and enjoy the run, wondering only briefly if his call would be heeded, if others might join in the fun.
