MONROE
MALE — SUNHAVEN — SUNBEARER — HARD
He'd gone out later in the evening to avoid the heat of the day and it was when he was more active anyway. The heat was cooling off and thanks to the ocean and how close they lived to it sometimes it got cooler faster. After all the ocean waters acted like a buffer for the intense heat of the planet and it was helpful for keeping things cool. At least the waters tried but there was only so much that his home could do. So the evening air was cooling off, the humidity not as dense as it had been the previous day and he could breath just a bit better. He was having many conflicting thoughts lately and some that terrified him. Firstly, he didn't want anyone to know of his past, especially not Jericho and Warsongs. Even when he thought about Stella there was a pit of fear and nerves that caused him to start to keep his distance from him. A part of him understood his boundaries and constantly told him that it wouldn't work but another part of him wanted it to be something. There was hope and he didn't want it to blossom and take root. Walking often cleared his head and today the tide had pulled back a little bit as he neared the shore of the beach. He wiggled and jumped from one rock to another before he landed upon the soft sands of the beach as waves crashed onto the sands.
The cool air washed off the waters and he allowed himself to relax and just drink in the peace. A small smile fluttered onto his muzzle before he turned his head to the side and opened those rainbow like hues to catch side of a tide pool. Now they weren't a rare sight but every time he saw one he just got excited because they were like little ecosystems that could exist without the wide open ocean. Oh, oh! Like little oceans! He squirmed a bit before he bolted off to go and see what was inside of this one. His gaze shifted over the small pool of still water and he noticed a few clams and an oyster at the bottom, there were were small corals growing around the sides and small colorful fish swimming around. But his main focus was on a bright blue and black octopus that had gotten stuck in the pool. It wiggled and moved up the side as if it knew he was there and he lowered his head a bit before chuckling a little. "Looks like ya are in a bit of a conundrum, little fella." His fin swayed back and forth behind him before suddenly one of the tentacles latched onto his muzzle. He was never one for feeling suction cups on his skin and he jerked back, causing the rest of the octopus to latch onto the bottom of his chin.
The beak was pressed against his mouth as if giving him a kiss and he couldn't help the yelp that left his muzzle. No, no, he was definitely not liking this and he shook his head to try and get the octopus off. But it was glued on. "Get off me. This ain't how ya make friends!" He stumbled back and feel on because of a misstep, landing on his ass with a hard grunt leaving his throat. All the while the octopus was advancing up from his muzzle, covering his eyes and squeezing his head. He attempted to pull it off but when he would get one tentacle off another would suction cup back on and he started to run around on the beach, screaming some rather choice words because of his panic.
