IT'S SO GRABBY - open; octopus problems - rhosmari - 08-11-2018 MONROE MALE — SUNHAVEN — SUNBEARER — HARD He'd gone out later in the evening to avoid the heat of the day and it was when he was more active anyway. The heat was cooling off and thanks to the ocean and how close they lived to it sometimes it got cooler faster. After all the ocean waters acted like a buffer for the intense heat of the planet and it was helpful for keeping things cool. At least the waters tried but there was only so much that his home could do. So the evening air was cooling off, the humidity not as dense as it had been the previous day and he could breath just a bit better. He was having many conflicting thoughts lately and some that terrified him. Firstly, he didn't want anyone to know of his past, especially not Jericho and Warsongs. Even when he thought about Stella there was a pit of fear and nerves that caused him to start to keep his distance from him. A part of him understood his boundaries and constantly told him that it wouldn't work but another part of him wanted it to be something. There was hope and he didn't want it to blossom and take root. Walking often cleared his head and today the tide had pulled back a little bit as he neared the shore of the beach. He wiggled and jumped from one rock to another before he landed upon the soft sands of the beach as waves crashed onto the sands. The cool air washed off the waters and he allowed himself to relax and just drink in the peace. A small smile fluttered onto his muzzle before he turned his head to the side and opened those rainbow like hues to catch side of a tide pool. Now they weren't a rare sight but every time he saw one he just got excited because they were like little ecosystems that could exist without the wide open ocean. Oh, oh! Like little oceans! He squirmed a bit before he bolted off to go and see what was inside of this one. His gaze shifted over the small pool of still water and he noticed a few clams and an oyster at the bottom, there were were small corals growing around the sides and small colorful fish swimming around. But his main focus was on a bright blue and black octopus that had gotten stuck in the pool. It wiggled and moved up the side as if it knew he was there and he lowered his head a bit before chuckling a little. "Looks like ya are in a bit of a conundrum, little fella." His fin swayed back and forth behind him before suddenly one of the tentacles latched onto his muzzle. He was never one for feeling suction cups on his skin and he jerked back, causing the rest of the octopus to latch onto the bottom of his chin. The beak was pressed against his mouth as if giving him a kiss and he couldn't help the yelp that left his muzzle. No, no, he was definitely not liking this and he shook his head to try and get the octopus off. But it was glued on. "Get off me. This ain't how ya make friends!" He stumbled back and feel on because of a misstep, landing on his ass with a hard grunt leaving his throat. All the while the octopus was advancing up from his muzzle, covering his eyes and squeezing his head. He attempted to pull it off but when he would get one tentacle off another would suction cup back on and he started to run around on the beach, screaming some rather choice words because of his panic. She just got promoted, after all, and it seemed as if she would be here for a long time; it even (briefly) made her entertain the notion of settling down once and for all. She was quite bored today, like she tended to be every day. This boredom did not cease to exist until she busied herself with something she enjoyed, and she figured she ought to concern herself with finally opening one of those nasty coconuts on the beach, which was why she ended up on the beach in the first place, walking along the shore. It was then that she spotted Monroe. Monroe was... her friend? Or something. He was a little small, height wise, which was weird because she always imagined herself with someone bigger, but Monroe was strong, so she guessed that overturned it. He was half fish, she thought — and that was certainly attractive. Not ideal, but enticing. Stella liked different. At least she thinks that she does. Or maybe she just likes watching him dance around her with that funny pirate talk he does, and how he constantly stares. At first it had been unnerving; now, she strangely grew accustomed to the attention. Stellamaris watched him curiously from afar without approaching him, until he started to yell and shout — that was when she leaped forward, trotting up to him to see what had happened. She leaned over. There was a fish on his face. A fish! "I thought you were some kind of fish thing. Why is it attacking you?" she wasn't entirely worried by the genuine look of curiosity on her face as he struggled with the octopus, large eyes bright. If one looked closely, there was even a glint of glee. She struggled not to laugh. "Did you insult it?" Re: IT'S SO GRABBY - open; octopus problems - JA´SUNNA - 08-12-2018 Whenever she's not sleeping on the dock, she's sleeping on the beach. Much of the white tigress' life happens during the colder nights, with the days spent mostly in a heap of sleeping scars and fur, so still she becomes that she can be mistaken for one of her own taxidermied animal figurines. It's only when Monroe's voice echoes across the coast, cresting high above the gentle crashing of waves, does the heap of fur show signs of life, twisting and turning around as it rolls over and stretches as far as her limbs would let her, muscles rippling underneath the intricately carved skin, strong jaws parting to make way for a pleased yawn. Lips smacking back together, Ja'sunna's lids peel apart over her vermilion eyes, scanning the coast lazily before spotting both Stellamaris and Monroe. They seem to be in a fuss, and the Hearthkeeper decides to investigate—she has nothing else to do, anyway. Grumbling under her breath, she twists onto her paws and wanders over, leaving large footprints on the sand carved perfectly to the shape of her paw-pads. Still in a state of drowsiness, she isn't exactly thinking straight, and only goes by the first thing that pops up in the forefront of her brain. She's hungry, and there's an octopus on the cat-fish's face. It's an easy decision. Ja'sunna, looking as famished as she feels, parts her jaws and attempts to latch onto the head of the octopus to take a swift but half-starved bite. |
