It was at times like these that South was glad for the thick, white pelt that this body offered to him, with the cold winds blowing down at him despite the fact that it was the middle of summer and everywhere else it was sweltering heat. He preferred the cold, however, so it didn't bother him much at all... he was rather complaining about the fact that his body otherwise offered no shelter from the said heat of the world, and he had been forced to either walk under the sun for miles without respite in a coat meant strongly for winter, or to switch to two of less favorable bodies. One was a giant, towering dragon that was not subtle at all, and the other a feline form that reminded him too much of the past for him to care to use it.
The Snowbound had ended up being just short of a miracle to him, the cool air finally letting him rest from the heat. He had waited at the border respectfully, someone coming shortly after to invite him over to stay with the exclamation that he looked just as exhausted as he felt. He had accepted the invitation readily, and had been showered by all manners of hospitality by the nice woman who had been there to greet him.
She was the only one who knew of his joining, although he had seen spare glances sent his way as she dragged him from one house to another to offer him all kinds of things that he should need. No one had yet to approach him, however, so he was left to his own devices sitting off to the side next to a house he had quickly been offered and claimed as his own, sipping a cup of hot tea that he had prepared for himself when the one the lady had offered him had not sufficed.
