Lurking through the depths of the territory, Corrupttimelines stared upon the ground. It was evident he was watching something, but what was it? Squinting intensely down at his paws, his gaze flickered to and fro. Behind him, his fluffy tail was lashing rapidly in all directions. Not to mention his ears, which swiveled and pinned. Anyone onlooking the scene could tell he was investigating something, but what was it?
Intense yellow hued eyes shot up at a brown mass, wrinkled in the fabric of time and nature as he stared. Each individual line carved into the mass held a different variety of depth, some far less deep than others. A different hue of brown splattered against the evidently firm trunk in some places, some light speckles dancing amongst it. Slowly, his gaze traversed down towards the mucky ground. Enveloping the tree’s roots with a less than gentle touch, the soil upturned in some places rather than others. Yet, it was no clearer what he was looking for.
Thonk!
The domestic feline shot up in the air, perhaps comically so, as an acorn of sorts fell onto his head. A sharp pain shot through his skull, his paw grasping his head in dismay. His gaze shot upward, and only then did he notice the little squirrel. As angry as he wanted to be, he couldn’t. Not to mention, he was far from hungry.
The squirrel ushered down the tree, leaping upon Corrupttimelines’s back and laying there. A soft smile pursed his lips, and though many would beg to differ, he allowed it. “You’re lucky I wasn’t looking for a treat.”
