That oh-so unfamiliar deranged rambling entered his hearing as Romulus lurked in the trees and laid on a branch in silence, observing the territory from above. His eyes broke away from the stumbling delinquents in the distance and readjusted towards the fumbling feline he called his sister. Romulus watched momentarily, only to notice the children playing had disappeared into the shadows. With a concerned glare, he returned back to Sojourn. His head daringly leaned over the branch. Rounded ears faced forward and listened to her desperate spiel with curiosity. He knew his comments in regard to her questions would only come with dismissal, but the lion still decided to chime in from above. "Surely there is," came his blunt musing. "Just like the rest of us, Sojourn." Flaws came with life, but they happened to swarm Sojourn like a hoard of wasps lately. Cannibalizing, power-hungry ghouls weren't known for their kindess and gracious attitude... or at least he thought so.
There still remained a princess below that flesh of hers. A Malus predecessor. A descendant of their leaderly parents and someone who held empathy, but to Romulus, it had been deeply buried by Sojourn's troubles. He had dug his own dark path to Hell, but it was nowhere as severe as hers... Nowhere as near bloody.
Paws graced the mud-laden ground as Romulus descended from the treetops. Once again, he was consoling his sister when she had never bothered to do the same for him. "What is on your mind, sister?" he formally asked. "Or do you prefer to disregard my words and send me on my way?" The lion's head tilted. Either way, he got to indulge in something that interested him: being alone and gaining knowledge.
