The leopardess paced back and forth, back and forth, she had been unable to rest. Unable to find any semblance of peace since everything had happened. Her mind had been wandering back and forth over options. The differences that could have happened and clearing all of them only to start over again and again. She was right. She had always been right. Not always. No that wasn't right. But she felt like she had been right here. This was the time to move on. She wanted to move on. But maybe she was wrong. She was wrong. Her head shook suddenly and violently before she made her way from her house. The clean up of it having been fruitful so that she could move back in. Move in with a child. The idea felt so foreign to her. So weird. Almost unfathomable. Still it had happened and she was his mother. Was this how it was supposed to feel?

She left the village then, making her trek, a long journey to who knew where. She had no purpose nor did she have any real pattern to her step. It was almost as if she was drunk. Her ambling paws brought her to the lake. She had forgotten the name of it again. It had been given the name by Elysium. She didn't really care but she stared at herself. Looked at herself harshly, critically. "What's wrong with you? Is there something wrong with me? Yes. No. I don't feel like there is anything wrong with me? Are you sure?" She gritted her teeth, jaw clenching and hurting. She didn't like these questions. They ran like a river. Her eyes narrowed a bit before she sucked up a breath. "I feel fine. I feel everything. I'm trying. I'm just...Sojourn...I think."

That oh-so unfamiliar deranged rambling entered his hearing as Romulus lurked in the trees and laid on a branch in silence, observing the territory from above. His eyes broke away from the stumbling delinquents in the distance and readjusted towards the fumbling feline he called his sister. Romulus watched momentarily, only to notice the children playing had disappeared into the shadows. With a concerned glare, he returned back to Sojourn. His head daringly leaned over the branch. Rounded ears faced forward and listened to her desperate spiel with curiosity. He knew his comments in regard to her questions would only come with dismissal, but the lion still decided to chime in from above. "Surely there is," came his blunt musing. "Just like the rest of us, Sojourn." Flaws came with life, but they happened to swarm Sojourn like a hoard of wasps lately. Cannibalizing, power-hungry ghouls weren't known for their kindess and gracious attitude... or at least he thought so.

There still remained a princess below that flesh of hers. A Malus predecessor. A descendant of their leaderly parents and someone who held empathy, but to Romulus, it had been deeply buried by Sojourn's troubles. He had dug his own dark path to Hell, but it was nowhere as severe as hers... Nowhere as near bloody.

Paws graced the mud-laden ground as Romulus descended from the treetops. Once again, he was consoling his sister when she had never bothered to do the same for him. "What is on your mind, sister?" he formally asked. "Or do you prefer to disregard my words and send me on my way?" The lion's head tilted. Either way, he got to indulge in something that interested him: being alone and gaining knowledge.
