One ran his tail along Jade's flank to sooth her, "S-She'll live. We fought a war together, if she survived that, she can survive this." He mentally noted to see about patrols being sent here in case whoever attacked his mate would show again, "Okay, make sure she doesn't thrash too much, alright? She won't be as strong due to the severity of her injuries, but she is still bigger than you." The black jaguar took a shaky breath, gently 'but firmly' wrapped his paws around Margaret's wing and quickly pulled it back into shape. He heard bones snap and crack as he re-set the bones. Gently nosing the younger to the side, he began to wrap Margo's wing with an improvised splint, at least it'd hold until she was back into the medic's den, "You did good, Jadeire, Margaret would be proud of you." He gave a shaky purr, and moved around to the front of the injured direwolf's face. His stomach crawled and he felt his heart drop. He didn't know how well he could treat her eye. He never dealt with an injury of the eye this severe. He would have to treat inside the socket as well, and he had no idea if he could do it right. Slowly, he scooted his supplies to him and carefully did what he could with policies and medicine before wrapping around the ear to hold the bandages against her injured eye.
With a deep huff of concern, One turned to Jade after rummaging through his supplies once again, "Here," he nosed some thyme to the cub, "this will help until we are back to camp." With a swish of his tail, he warred with risking carrying Margo back with just him and an apprentice, or to have the apprentice run back and get help from another adult to help carry her. With a sigh, he fixed his mate's positioning to help not strain or hurt anything more than necessary and turned to Jadeire, "Dear? I need you to run to camp and get another adult, preferably someone who is similar in size or bigger than me. It is too risky to carry her back with just you and me." One gently smoothed his paw over her side and whispered, "Be safe."
As he settled next to Margaret, he listened to her labored and light breathing, and prayed to any god out there not to take his love away after he finally, finally, found her.
