MARGARET ELLEFSEN
FEMALE — FROSTBLOWN — MEMBER OF THE AMARANYTHNE SABER CORPS
[div style="background-color: #292727; color: white; font-family: arial; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px; height: 340px; padding: 10px;"]trigger warning: eye injury and blackout from removal of eye

echoing step of foot, booming clash of metal upon metal rang out across the forest deafened by nighttime, the rowdy screams and cheers of those who were caught in the clash ringing in her ears as her paws fought for purchase against slick rocks and moss, claws leaving gouges on the trees she rebounded from. sword gripped tightly in her jaws, eyes narrowed against the blinding light of the fire burning to embers in the winter snows, trying to find her opponents. shit, there were too many and there was too much noise for her to focus. closing her eyes in a desperate attempt, the seasoned swordswoman took a deep breath, pushing it deep into her lungs as she encouraged her blood to flow further, to reach the toes so cold they didn't want to work for her anymore. gathering her strength, she sensed movement on her right followed by her fore-left, a snarl ripping through her as she pushed her into a jump, letting the two attackers crash into each other without a moment to avoid each other. she might have cleared their bodies, but she wasn't so lucky to avoid the scimitar sliding through fur and flesh on her hind leg.

cursing as she snapped open a pair of wings, the valkyrie dove down with furious eyes. she wanted to end this skirmish, heavily outnumbered as she was, she couldn't let these bastards step into the territory any further. snarl ripping across her muzzle, she dove in an attack against the leader of the rogues, her jaws locking into his skull as she used her weight to throw them both, dispatching her enemy with a slight struggle with the nearest boulder. shit, she didn't want to kill him but it was quickly becoming a kill or be killed situation. blood dripping into her eyes from a shallow cut above her right eye, she snarled in pain, her limbs shaking with exhaustion. she'd been patrolling so often these days without allowing herself a break, the mercenary wanting to give her best to the group she stayed with. growling as her leg gave out, the direwolf was sent crashing to her chest as her wings folded, body begging for rest.

rolling as she caught the glimpse of a blade's light, she narrowly avoided a nasty head injury, willing her aching body to get back up, various nicks and cuts littering her body and sapping her strength as each motion caused the torn flesh to ache anew, her ichor staining the snow around the clearing as steam rose from her pelt, panting as she struggled to breathe in the cold environment. a strangled scream of agony ripped out of her as she was pinned, a wing caught awkwardly behind her back before she felt it snap, pushing at the rogue pinning her down with her fading strength. damnit, she could have taken them if she'd had enough rest. raising her voice in a last desperate howl, she screamed as fiery agony overtook her senses, jaws locking around her skull and cutting off her howl, blacking out as her eye was taken from her, the left orb leaving behind a dark cavity with a splitting migraine, the valkyrie collapsed and unconscious as the rogues fled the scene, knowing her call for help would bring someone else.

she had been sleeping peacefully, unaware of all the stuff anyone else was doing, until a howl snapped her to attention and pierced her heart. that sounded so much like-
her mother.
her mother.
no, no, no, this wasn't happening. jade wasn't there with her but she could feel it, some sort of mother-daughter connection. margaret was in pain and there wasn't much jade could do to help.
she sprang out of the place she was sleeping in, quickly shaking her wings in attempts to get them to work. she wasn't sure if they were strong enough to get her there quick enough but she began to shout for help, streaking across the camp and towards the sounds of commotion.
wings, please work when i need you the most.
they did for a brief amount of time, covering a good distance but she panicked and her mind went blank as her paws reached the floor quicker than she expected. she screamed in desperation but carried on despite burning lungs and gritted her teeth, flattening her wings and streamlining her body to gain speed.

upon arrival she spotted her mother in a mess of blood and gore and nearly lost her mind and faltered. she didn't really care for many people but her mother was her biggest role model, the most important person in her life. jade couldn't let the rogue just continue to tear into her mother's eye socket like that, so she readied herself and sprinted towards him, putting all her force into slamming into him, then crouching over the limp body of her mother, spreading her wings in an attempt to make herself look bigger and wincing at the blood that was staining her paws before realising margo's wing had been broken and resisting the urge to gag and throw up. but she kept her outside composure.

in truth, she was terrified. she had no experience in combat whatsoever, but this was her mother. someone who she would defend to her last breath. so now all she could do was wait, wait whilst somebody came to save her mother, wait and try to hold off the rogues that were eyeing her hungrily, having a new target to rip their talons into.

Oneheart, 'One. It's One.' he'd remind others, felt a prickling of dread on his spine. His rounded ears flat against his skull, his long tail tucked against his left leg. He felt something bad was happening, until he heard one of Margaret's cubs, one of his beloved's, that he snapped to attention. The pit in his stomach worsened as he picked up as much medical supplies as he could roll up into the pelt he used as a bad. Slinging it onto his back, he turned to his Greenhorn, and growled out that he needed Apple to come by in exactly 30 minutes if they weren't back with more supplies. With a shake of himself, he straightened his tail, perked his ears back up, and forced himself to 'Focus!' and streaked off to follow Jadeire.

One's heart pounded in his chest. All he could think of is hazy memories of the last time he felt this much dread. It was...when him and Margo last seen each other? The black jaguar violently shook his head to clear his murky thoughts as he stopped short of the two, his heart...his heart was in his throat and breaking.

Margaret and Jadeire were curled together.
There was so much blood.
He choked on distant memories.

He jolted back when he set the pelt down, and dashed up to the two. He seen how Margo was unconscious, and ordered, "Jadeire, give me a full report of what you know happened. It doesn't have to be everything, just, tell me what you can." Talking would keep the younger from going into the deep claws of shock while he began to softly nose and gently caress Margaret's wounds.

The black jaguar waited for the cub to start talking as he softly touched his wife and transferred some of the minor wounds to himself. One swayed a bit at using his health transfer, he didn't check to see the possible wounds he received, but steadied himself as he began to wrap Margo's wounds with bandages and herb mixes he could to prevent infection and help them heal. When the jaguar got to the broken wing, "Oh...she loved to fly with those..." He breathed to himself, he looked at the younger, "I need you to keep the wing extended for me, okay?" He softly asked, "I need to reset the bones so there is a chance that her wing will heal right."

they left-they left. someone else came and chased them away. she stumbled off the unconscious body of her mother and collapsed, the adrenaline holding her up now releasing her and stripping her from her strength. she wanted to close her  eyes oh yes  she did but someone was talking to her, asking her what happened. she didn't know. "i'm sorry, i-i don't know. i saw it rip her eye out." she murmured, briefly noticing how he trembled and her mother seemed to breathe in a bit lighter. "one, i don't know what happened. i was too late-i should h ave been there for her. i should have been faster. i'm scared, one. what if they come back? will she die?" she was a quivering mess but he asked gently if she could help keep margo's wing in place and the hybrid nodded slowly, shakily getting up to her paws and attempting to hurry over, her wings dragging deep grooves and making her wince. "o-okay, i can do this. i'm sorry." she knew she was going into shock but her mother came first. she would try to stay awake until she heard the words of confirmation slip from one's lips that margaret ellefsen would be okay. not really knowing what to do she just kind of straddled the wing with her forepaws, careful not to break any more feathers that were already damaged in the fight. hopefully the closeness of her paws together would give margo resistance should her wing want to move. spreaden out the hind legs a bit to keep balance, jade.

One ran his tail along Jade's flank to sooth her, "S-She'll live. We fought a war together, if she survived that, she can survive this." He mentally noted to see about patrols being sent here in case whoever attacked his mate would show again, "Okay, make sure she doesn't thrash too much, alright? She won't be as strong due to the severity of her injuries, but she is still bigger than you." The black jaguar took a shaky breath, gently 'but firmly' wrapped his paws around Margaret's wing and quickly pulled it back into shape. He heard bones snap and crack as he re-set the bones. Gently nosing the younger to the side, he began to wrap Margo's wing with an improvised splint, at least it'd hold until she was back into the medic's den, "You did good, Jadeire, Margaret would be proud of you." He gave a shaky purr, and moved around to the front of the injured direwolf's face. His stomach crawled and he felt his heart drop. He didn't know how well he could treat her eye. He never dealt with an injury of the eye this severe. He would have to treat inside the socket as well, and he had no idea if he could do it right. Slowly, he scooted his supplies to him and carefully did what he could with policies and medicine before wrapping around the ear to hold the bandages against her injured eye.

With a deep huff of concern, One turned to Jade after rummaging through his supplies once again, "Here," he nosed some thyme to the cub, "this will help until we are back to camp." With a swish of his tail, he warred with risking carrying Margo back with just him and an apprentice, or to have the apprentice run back and get help from another adult to help carry her. With a sigh, he fixed his mate's positioning to help not strain or hurt anything more than necessary and turned to Jadeire, "Dear? I need you to run to camp and get another adult, preferably someone who is similar in size or bigger than me. It is too risky to carry her back with just you and me." One gently smoothed his paw over her side and whispered, "Be safe."

As he settled next to Margaret, he listened to her labored and light breathing, and prayed to any god out there not to take his love away after he finally, finally, found her.

she inhaled, exhaled. she was going to be fine. margaret apparently was supposed to be fine. but the child still winced as the bones snapped into place, a snarl briefly flashing onto her maw at someone else hurting her mother. but since one was the medic and knew how to save lives she wasn't to complain. he gently nosed her to the side, she numbly complied with little resistance, gaze fixed on the hollow of margo's eye. her own blinked sleepily, after all it was evening when she had woken up. the compliment was ignored, going in one ear and out the other. how would he know what margaret would be?  he wasn't her. he never would be.

she took another step back warily as he pushed something that smelt nice towards her, mentioning it would help. her gaze darted from him to it before yawning, feeling bones grind smoothly into place. well, if he wanted to poison her at least she'd be the one dying today, she had see how he treated margo lovingly. she dipped her head down, still hyper-aware of her surroundings, and lapped the herbs up because it seemed the natural thing to do. making a face at the taste but swallowing it quickly the brit smacked her lips, running her tongue over her maw.

another task! he gave her another task. to run back to camp and get somebody about the same size as him. she looked at the medic, assessing his bulk. true, if he wanted to carry margo back he'd be better off with someone of his size so her mother didn't get seasicknesses. "okay. keep her safe." she mumbled before turning tail and moving at a small trot towards camp, not trusting herself to move any faster due to fatigue and not wanting to go slower. another second wasted is another second mother's in pain, she chided herself and gritted her teeth as she picked up tempo.
reaching camp she called out for help before a npc showed up, looking in concern. she gave him brief directions on how to get to one and her mother before limping to the medic's den and entering cautiously, casting a glance at the npc's retreating form. she would stay awake. she wouldn't rest until her mother showed up, she couldn't. she-she'd stay awake-
darkness felt sweet, welcoming.

DO YOU MIND IF I WILD OUT
AUBERON -- MASC/NONB. -- THE FROSTBLOWN -- SAGE -- MEDIUM DIFFICULTY
The child wouldn't have to wait long, he'd been out of camp when the first call had been sent out. Now he was back, and he was following the NPC that had been sent Oneheart and Margaret's way. Blindly following the valkyrie's scent, he crossed obstacles without thought and soon overtook the NPC. He had to get there, she was as close to him as if she were his sister. When he'd been young, she'd been one of two that had openly accepted him. He couldn't leave her in her time of need!

Clearing the last few miles in a mindless haze of worry and frantic panic inside of his chest, he would come hurdling to a stop by One, snow flying under his paws. "Oneheart. Jadeire said you needed help.", damnit, his voice was cracking and he was scared, he couldn't be alone again, he couldn't face the world all alone. Swallowing a quick breath he would dart to his side, trembling with anxious energy. He could smell the pain and the blood and oh god he was starving but this was Margaret, this was his sister, his family, his groupmate. Giving a desperate shake of his head as he shivered, he would move to help Oneheart even the collapsed valkyrie's weight between the two of them. He needed her to be okay - though he couldn't speak those words he knew Oneheart suffered the safe fears as he but on a different level. Margaret was his wife, of course he was scared for her. Swallowing rapidly, "can you treat her eye?", he couldn't think of her injuries without hunger striking him deep in the gut, he was ravenous.

If his Valereader couldn't treat the injury he had to find someone who could by whatever means possible. He refused to admit that there was even a chance that the valkyrie might fall victim to infection and lose her life - he couldn't let that happen. He was the goddamn Sage - he needed to protect his groupmates and he was obviously failing, badly.

"Auberon!" One gasped out, scrambling to his paws. He circled around to the Sage and whispered, "I never seen an eye injury this severe before, I did the best I could at the moment to prevent more bloodloss and rudimentary infection prevention." His oddly purple eyes her panicked but solmen, "We might need someone, anything, cause if it isn't treated correctly, it could fester even with all my poltices." One's tail swished and twitched as he thought about how he couldn't help with the worst injury, "Other than that, I used my health transfer to take the minor wounds, bandaged up the larger ones with the correct medicine, and I re-set her wing where it was broken."

One let out a small mournful noise, his paws and voice shaking, "I'm sorry I can't help more, I've done all I can for her. We fought a war together, lost each other, and recently found each other. I can't lose her. I can't lose her after finally finding her, Auberon."

moving to rest his paw against one's paw in comfort, he would rumble deeply, "you've done what you can oneheart. i don't blame you, you've done as best as you can. i know nothing about medical things, so i trust your judgement. i'll go looking for another individual who has experience with injuries like this - i have a woman in mind that i've heard of through rumors. i'll see about getting her help", he would rumble as he looked at the unconscious valkyrie with concern before exhaling heavily.

turning his gaze back to one, he would gruff, "we aren't letting her die. don't give up on her, or yourself, one. i need you to remain strong for her even though it's hard. she's a strong woman as you know, and she's in a way my sister - i refuse to lose any more family due to my own inabilities to protect the borders.", he rumbled with a hard look to the valereader. he knew that the other was shook up, but he needed him to keep some air about him, even if he had to fake it. he wanted nothing more than to save her himself but he had no clue what he was doing. he only knew that he could go and find someone with more experience in this kind of injury. "when we get her back to camp i'm going to go leave to find her. i'll be gone for some time - i don't know how long it will take but it will take at least a day. keep your head about you while i'm gone - you're going to have to take the weight of the group temporarily." he didn't want to make him suffer through this but he had no choice.
