MAGNUM DAISUKE
His best sense was that if smell, though the thick stench of the tobacco did often make it harder for him to pick things up, he could smell a sweet scents that sent his ears twitching for any sort sound alerting him of the familiar scent he had been introduced to that very morning. A certain.....Pendragon that left a sweet taste in his mouth when he had muttered it back to himself when they parted ways to go explore the territory in their own ways. The wolf was left smiling all day and had even cut back on his cigarettes in favor of keeping his mind on softer things and helping out around the camp however he could today. ‘Today is a pretty good day.’ He would tell himself occasionally as he even gathered a few lavender flowers he had found at the edge of the twisted forest that he had placed in a small glass jar in his den.
Magnum listened to the shift of sand underneath Winter’s soft paws, his form getting closer before stopping briefly. He had almost turned to look at the feline before a larger step was taken and a greeting broke the gentle silence between them. “Hey there, Winter.” His voice was much more warm and inviting than his stoic nature this morning, but he still held his gaze on the ocean for a while longer until more words came from the smaller man. “It’s early morning now, I’m pretty sure. The coldest part of the night and all that.” A brief chuckle passed through his teeth as he blew another puff of smoke away from Winter before dropping the butt and smother some sand over it. “I don’t litter, by the way. I pick it up and throw them away at home.” Magnum wasn’t sure why he felt the need to say it, but he grew hot at his awkwardness while shifting the sand with his own claws.
Dark grey eyes flicked down at the prince as he looked to the sea and spoke so softly and let out a purr that made a chill run up his spine. “You could say that. Though, I don’t see how a pretty face like yourself could have enough burdens to keep you up this late. Even with the scars.” Magnum would hum before he watched a bit of seafoam graze his paws, hoping his comment on his cute face or scars weren’t taken the wrong way or even worse, would ruin his chances of getting to stay in the presence of this unique soul. It did make him wonder just what was on his mind though, given it was his own heartache and treacherous acts that usually kept him from getting a good night’s rest most of the time. Were they more similar than it seemed? It was hard for him to believe, but he was willing to listen to whatever came out of that mouth of his.
“Sorry if it seems strange to be telling you this, but you seem like....” Magnum wasn’t sure if he was someone he could trust and that made his jaw clamp up briefly, searching and combing over his form with his eyes anxiously as this person he had met just today was getting to hear more about his life than Rhinestone or any other member that had known him at least a little longer than Winter was about to hear. “....like a good guy. But, I kinda arrived here in the twisted forest and without a clue as to how I got here. Last thing I remember was looking for a friend of mine and then...” His paw went to the bandage on his side, no longer stained with blood and much less pain when he layed down at night. “Pain. A fuckton of it.” The wolf’s voice grew low, his eyes narrowing behind his mess of hair and hat before a loud sigh passed through him.
Magnum regained his composure, tilting his hat up and revealing an eye to the feline as he looked to those bright purple orbs and the shudder of his form. Damn, he was cold. Subconsciously, his body had moved and inch or two closer to Winter’s and his paw was raised to place it around him until he followed his movements to get the scarf from his satchel. Magnum’s paw was quickly placed back onto the sand below and finally noticing the fancy, gold dagger that appeared to have slipped out with the fabric of the scarf. He squinted at the emblem on it before it was scooped up and inspeacted by Winter before being placed back within the bag for safe keeping. “That some sort of heirloom? Or just a treasure you found? I-I have a crown back at my place if you, er, wanted to go over there and see it now or another time.” He blinked a few times at his stutter, something he almost never did in front of anyone besides his old partner.
What was this guy doing to him to make him act like this?
