Damiana sure did seem determined, which was hardly a bad thing within The Typhoon – or anywhere, really. The other's excitement was infectious, causing Michael to smile and laugh a bit before he nodded, "Well, I'm sure the Grim Rays would welcome you with open arms. It never hurts for us to have more of a fighting force, especially given the recent raids..." He trailed off momentarily, his blue gaze darkening, before he quickly shook his head. No reason to dwell on that, right now. Instead, he just purred warmly, "And, ah, it's good to see you out and about too. Was worried we had already scared you off." Or, more likely, other groups trying to fuck with them would scare him off.
Thankfully, though, the dealer wasn't given much time to dwell on that any longer. Instead, his attention was pulled away by the arrival of Vayne, his ears perking up at the child's passionate proclamation. He grinned down at Vayne, saying with a hum of approval, "Everybody in The Typhoon wants you to grow up nice and strong too, kid. Speaking of... it shouldn't be too long until you need a proper mentor, huh? Maybe you and Damiana could embrace the Grim Rays together. I'm sure there's plenty of them looking to mentor someone like you." Michael might've offered to mentor Vayne himself, under the Blackjack Rats, but the thought of doing so still made his chest ache. After everything that had happened with Trygve, taking on another apprentice didn't actually sound that appealing.
