Hostility was, surprisingly, not something that the Glades often had to worry about when it came to their joiners. The last time Rhinestone could remember someone being outright hostile at their joining, it had been Quasar, and the young canine hadn't been hostile just for the fun of it. Rather, he was scared and upset as a result of the death of his parents, not to mention the sudden invasion of Palm into the lands that he had, at the time, considered home. In that same way, the legate found that he could understand where Ghost was coming from. After all, even from a distance, the serval could tell that the other was swaying on his feet, and the fact that he had heard grumbling and sharp tones even from afar suddenly seemed much more understandable. Hopefully the other would be able to relax slightly once he wasn't drenched down to the bone, or limping around in an unsteady manner.

Once he grew close enough to hear what Medusa and the others were saying, Rhinestonestar cleared his throat, voice steady, "There's no need to leave, stranger. If you're not feeling up to it, you can stay here until you do. We're not the kind to go around flaying people just for coming onto our land." His tone was a bit more formal than usual, but that was mostly just to match the way that Ghost seemed to be interacting with them. As he went to the side of Ghost opposite Medusa, he explained in a softer voice, "My name is Rhinestonestar, but most folks around here just call me Rhine. I'm the legate, so what I say goes, which is why I'm saying you can stay until you feel like you're better. You got a name?" His tone was a bit more friendly, but also had a bit of a blunt edge to it. That seemed like the best way to communicate with Ghost, or at least the way he would feel was the least patronizing. The last thing Rhine wanted was for more conflict to arise.
