a whisper / joining - deimos - 12-26-2020 SMOKESIGNAL

Perhaps it was the scent of salt water that kept him around. The creaking and mooring of the boat, the scent of tar and the sick scent of the water swabbed upon the deck. Traditional boats were nothing but fun to the rare oddity. He had been sold to the captain of the boat, and whilst easily escapable, Ghost had decided to stick around. It was freedom to sit on a three mast boat and sit upon the lap of luxury, relatively. Then the storm rolled in. Nothing was quite the same after that, he barely remembered. The crashing and screaming of ship members as they tried to keep the deathtrap rolling, cresting waves and thundering down to the valley below them. His claws dug into the wood, rain crashing down against his fur and causing his ears to lower. His head whipped back and forth, before his eyes lifted to the wave before him. And it was big. It crashed down against the boat, smacking his head against the deck. He woke up to seagulls, crested over him and pecking at him as if he was dead. A yowl and a jump up, they were gone. But his vision was swimming and he was stumbling back down to his stomach, head rolling and tunnel vision mounting. His paw lifted to his head, wincing as it brushed at a wound. Damn, that was going to hurt for a while. He stayed laying down, his eyes lifting towards the seas. No boat in sight. A soft sigh left his muzzle, and slowly he made it to his paws again, starting to wander the beach. // ghost is on the sparkling beach, after a bad storm and a whack to the head! You've pissed me off. The gentle winds were what brought the hybrid to the shores, the faint fear still in her paws. Having freshly shed, she was able to see and move without issue. It wasn't of her own volition that she were to see a newcomer on the shores, but she noticed the stranger and moved to approach them, spoiling away stray seagulls. "Ugly birds..' [sub][W]isker[/sub]Settling her eyes on Ghost, she called out as he walked, "Hey, you doing alright? Where'd you come from?" She continued to walk.. er - hobble after him. Re: a whisper / joining - rhosmari - 12-26-2020 The ocean had once held wonder for him, excitement, the beginnings of adventure. But now all he saw was a death trap, misery, and danger. It seemed to be washing ashore a lot of others now and he couldn't help but wonder about that. If the Witches were behind it. Were they angry that he had escaped their clutches for now? Only time would tell and he hoped that it was good news. As he roamed the snow laden sands of the sparkling beach the hybrid between a direwolf and a jaguar paused, fins flaring up and illuminating the area as he came forth and stared at the scene. Sea green glowing orbs looked at what seemed to be a drowned cat who was coming to from some kind of calamity that had to involve the salt of the sea. His gaze flicked over to Medusa then in earnest, worry pricking his odd eyes before he looked back to the one whom was hurt. ''Maybe we should get Vaas, or maybe Rhine. He looks kinda bad off right now.'' Plus he could see injuries on the other's body which made him think more about the situation at hand as he moved his body a bit closer to Medusa's. He wasn't sure why but he was a bit on edge right now and he flexed his retractable claws against the snow.

I'm living someone else's life. Suppressing who I was inside. I don't know if I can be alone again. I don't know if I can sleep alone again. %u2014 Sorbet Monroe Roux Re: a whisper / joining - deimos - 12-26-2020 SMOKESIGNAL

A noise, a scent on the wind which disrupted that of a solid sand and salt laden air. His light tan eyes watched the figure approach, coming to a stop to let them approach. A hard frown crossed his face, ears twitching before settling up straight, rotated towards the figure. He cleared his throat gently, turning his head and spitting what phlegm came up. He then looked at Medusa with a crooked head. Ghost then sighed, letting his head drop before slowly raising it again. "M' fine. I came from th' sea." He spoke, his accent thick. His eyes shifted.. well. Up. Towards the next person. "Well, th' person in question can care fer himself. Y' might want t' consider his opinion b'fore you go callin' more people in." Ghost spoke, his eyes narrowed just a bit. He laid his fur flat, before sighing thickly. He shook his head again, before sitting down- wet cats were always so scary, you see, he had noticed the step towards Sorbet's compadre- and lifting his eye towards Sorbet again. "Where am I?" "text" tags - penned by [member=79]auto[/member]

Re: a whisper / joining - Grimm - 12-27-2020 The call rang, edges plucked at until it grew to but a faint echo, that aside brushed without much care. Still they tried, about rules and restrictions drawn, each discarded with a glee that had grown dull. Time against even as it allowed the progression to dwindle, his childhood near enough behind his gaze settled only upon the future. The present offered nothing, beneath frigid flakes the sand swallowed, proceedings continuing in the wake of war. Further did he burrow within weighed cloak, slender and trembling the shoulders beneath, taunt draw leaving clasp to strain.

Movement ceased, forth ears swivelling. Always the same, the give and take of the ocean a trade without beginning and end. Once more momentum drew him along the shore, conversation staged between onlookers before subject interjected, confusion alighting along duel hued features in a gentle frown. Another spoke in such an odd vernacular, words twisted and odd against a tongue shaped by external influence. "On a beach." Words bypassed lips before thought may catch up, away turned vision, the rabbit fur cloak obscuring the manner annoyance dawned along his visage. The direction was towards himself in this, muffled words near inaudible ended with a softer tone, effort put forth to correct slip of the tongue. "This is the Palm Glades. Or, well, the land is ours." i think that's a burn but we seldom learn, you know fire's too strict a teacher, stoking up the coal with another pull silence and smoke poured out, but there'll be time in distant days, time enough for me to shape my ways where my ambitions lift my indifference and no more of the day is a waste code by Wisker Re: a whisper / joining - rhosmari - 12-28-2020 Well, this was something that he hadn't expected and truth be told it caused him to flinch back a little. He hadn't expected hostility to the terms of potential help and he didn't know what else to say in the predicament. Voice slow to come when he was asked a question he pulled his ears back slightly, trying to take a moment for himself when one of the Glades kids came forward and answered instead. Relief was there on his face as he was given the moment he needed and he moved to make his way further around Medusa. The young adult lowered his glowing orbs to the ground and he supposed his approach had been unwarranted, and perhaps even unnecessary to some degree. Though he just thought that there could be something wrong with how he washed ashore, like himself and that sea dragon. The ocean was a dangerous place for all things considered but he slowly sat down and would just let the others handle this. After all it looked like it was going better than when he had interjected in the first place. Pulling his ears forward now he lifted his head up and looked at the individual seeing as they had gotten an answer and his maw parted on a meek apologetic word. ''Sorry....''

Another person. Ghost's eyes shifted towards the silver tabby, his ears pricking. He scoffed at the first answer, turning his eyes away with a dramatic grimace of his face. Who gave this kid such a humoring sense of jokes, then? His eyes turned back towards the kid. He rose his eyebrows as the question was finally answered. Palm Glades. "Y' own i'. Well, tha's good enoug fer me." He stated, pushing to his paws and wobbling. His vision swam, each person before him splitting in two. A grunt left his muzzle, and suddenly big guy was on the other side of first.. guy. He shook his head at the spoken word, ignoring it and picking himself up slowly. "I'd leave bu' I think m' not gonna make i'." His eyes slowly shifted towards Sorbet and he shook his head slowly. "Listen. Don't apologize t' me." He finally stated, before pushing herself up and grunting. You've pissed me off. A gentle huff came from the Hybrid with Smoke's words, smile a thin line on her face. Her tail lashed, a small spark flying off it. "Your.. defensive is understandable. You aren't the first soul to arrive injured on the beach." She glanced at Foam as he spoke, smile widening. When Ghost wobbled she moved toward him. "Don't hesitate to ask. If you're so stubborn as to refuse help right now, Vaas' place is over that way." She moved her head toward the boardwalk. [sub][W]isker[/sub]Hearing Sorbet, she stepped back and pressed her muzzle against his shoulder. "What he said. You didn't know how he would react." then she looked back go Ghost. "We can settle formalities when we reach camp, we'll be out of the open. Will you need help?" Re: a whisper / joining - RHINESTONE. - 01-01-2021
RHINESTONESTAR ❝ RHINE ❞ LEGATE
"TALKING" || "TELEPATHY"
Hostility was, surprisingly, not something that the Glades often had to worry about when it came to their joiners. The last time Rhinestone could remember someone being outright hostile at their joining, it had been Quasar, and the young canine hadn't been hostile just for the fun of it. Rather, he was scared and upset as a result of the death of his parents, not to mention the sudden invasion of Palm into the lands that he had, at the time, considered home. In that same way, the legate found that he could understand where Ghost was coming from. After all, even from a distance, the serval could tell that the other was swaying on his feet, and the fact that he had heard grumbling and sharp tones even from afar suddenly seemed much more understandable. Hopefully the other would be able to relax slightly once he wasn't drenched down to the bone, or limping around in an unsteady manner.
tags + roleplayed by stilly + the palm gladesOnce he grew close enough to hear what Medusa and the others were saying, Rhinestonestar cleared his throat, voice steady, "There's no need to leave, stranger. If you're not feeling up to it, you can stay here until you do. We're not the kind to go around flaying people just for coming onto our land." His tone was a bit more formal than usual, but that was mostly just to match the way that Ghost seemed to be interacting with them. As he went to the side of Ghost opposite Medusa, he explained in a softer voice, "My name is Rhinestonestar, but most folks around here just call me Rhine. I'm the legate, so what I say goes, which is why I'm saying you can stay until you feel like you're better. You got a name?" His tone was a bit more friendly, but also had a bit of a blunt edge to it. That seemed like the best way to communicate with Ghost, or at least the way he would feel was the least patronizing. The last thing Rhine wanted was for more conflict to arise. Re: a whisper / joining - deimos - 01-01-2021 SMOKESIGNAL

His eyebrows drew just a bit as Medusa stepped forward. His head pulled back and his ears rotated out, pupils widening a bit. His paw drew back towards himself, before letting a breath leave his muzzle as she pulled back away. His head turned and, begrudgingly, he mumbled. "Rest.. sounds good. I can walk by m'self, no worries there." He stated. Ghost's eyes then shifted to the man who carried himself higher then the rest. It was easy enough to lock onto- the captain, boss, head honcho. His owner had walked about as such on the boat, yelling at the men to work faster and to pull the rig one way to the next. There was something already separate about this, well, legate, before him. Ghost's ears pulled back forward as he listened to Rhine speak, before responding in turn. Well, formalities couldn't wait apparently. "Well tha's a relief. Was very worried I was going to ge'.. flayed." He snickered a second after he finished his statement. He then sighed. He picked himself up, swaying a bit before straightening himself out. The horned oddity raised his head and spoke. "I have a name, but one I don't wish to go by. I'll.. think of one b' fer right now I need to pass out. I think." He stated, his ears twitching back.
