— HISTORY

ALTHOUGH WROUGHT WITH disaster and strife, the warriors of The Palm Glades are largely proud of their history, even if most of it has been lost to time. It is unknown when exactly the group were originally founded, although legends say that they were formed from former housecats, abandoned out in the mountains only to return and find their owners long gone. Over time, the group molded themselves after the warriors of old, believing that their faith and determination would carry them forward. The farthest back remembered history involves the hurricane, and the beginning of Rhinestonestar's leadership.

Rhinestone's Reign:

Rhinestonestar's reign began rather roughly, in the wake of a horrific hurricane hitting the group's territory. At the time, The Palm Glades were known instead as Palmclan, living in their beachside camp and worshipping Starclan fully. The hurricane hit at a time where the group was wholly unprepared, and it wiped out the entirety of Palmclan's high positions, save for Rhinestoneeyes, a young senior warrior at the time. Faced with no other options, Rhinestone was forced to step up as leader, working to put the clan back together and keep them all safe. In order to do this, he was quick to fill up the high positions once again, promoting Featherear as the new medicine cat, and Vixenvenom as a new senior warrior.

However, Rhine's reign continued shakily, with a vicious rat attack happening, and Vixenvenom going missing. In order to protect his group, Rhinestone took a small patrol into the nearby boardwalk, previously thought to have been populated by humans. The boardwalk collapsed partially behind them as soon as the patrol entered, causing the group to be trapped without a safe way out. To the patrol's shock and awe, the boardwalk was unoccupied, save for a group of other animals who had banded together to live their. Spotting an opportunity, Rhinestone spoke with the boardwalk's leader, Vaas, and the two were eventually able to negotiate a deal. The boardwalk would be able to merge with Palmclan and have protection, if they led the patrol safely back to camp. This deal went over well, and the boardwalk became a large and valued part of Palmclan's territory.

From there, Palmclan continued to grow and thrive, with many new members joining every day, and Rhinestone introducing not only the rank of waverunner, but also the Warrior's Plight tradition. Rhine even allied the group with Alithís Evgenis and the Coalition of the Condemned, eager for strong outside allies to help in their defense against harmful forces. Unfortunately, this peace was not destined to last. A vicious snowstorm unexpectedly hit Palmclan's territory, covering it in snow and causing a rash of sickness, as well as a prey shortage. The clan continued onwards with the help of their allies, but all was not well. Rhinestonestar grew deathly ill, and ultimately ended up suffering his first death at the jaws of a vicious wolf. While all this was going on, the clan began to question their faith in Starclan, wondering why their ancestors would allow so much misery to befall them.

In the end, Rhinestone returned to Palmclan, this time in a new body and with a declaration – Starclan had forsaken them. It was clear their ancestors no longer cared, and thus didn't deserve their praise or worship. After consulting with the group as a whole, Rhinestonestar decided to do away with the practice of Starclan worship, and changed the name of the group from Palmclan to The Palm Glades, in order to signify their growth.

RECENT EVENTS HAVE caused The Palm Glades to reevaluate their religion as a whole, as well as their level of spirituality. The group has turned their backs on their former worship of Starclan, and is still in a transitional period of figuring out where to go from here. As events develop, more information will be added here delving into Palm Glades's religion, and how they view the world spiritually.

— RULES & LINKS

AS A WHOLE, The Palm Glades has a strict set of IC rules that must be followed, referred to as their Forsaken Code. OOCly, all regular BoB rules apply. The Forsaken Code is as follows:
☆ While domestic felines still make up the majority of the group, any kind of animal or creature is welcome within The Palm Glades. Discrimination on the basis of species is strictly prohibited and will result in punishment.
☆ Powers, although previously outlawed, have been welcomed into Palm Glades's culture. While no longer outlawed, powers should not be used to excess. The group does not want lazy warriors, nor do they want potentially catastrophic accidents.
☆ Two part names are not technically required, but are still seen as a sign of respect within the group.
☆ Palm Glades warriors are expected to respect each other, and work well together. So, although friendly competition is allowed, if a fight breaks out between members or a member is shown to be harming others, they shall be punished severely, perhaps even with exile.
☆ While enemies are largely free game, torture is not encouraged and any form of sexual violence is expressly forbidden. Aside from this, enemy warriors may be captured as bargaining chips, and enemy groups may be attacked.

THE PALM GLADES are a largely warbound group, meaning that, while the group as a whole is largely reclusive and tries to avoid conflict, they are also largely out for themselves. For the most part, warriors of Palm Glades are encouraged to focus on the good of the group, and not be afraid to cause trouble with others if they have wronged The Palm Glades in some way. In addition to this, it is difficult to ally with Palm Glades because of their reclusive and hostile nature, although not impossible.
