For someone who had supposedly been "dead" in the past himself, Michael had to say that Vandal was remarkably casual for someone who had just come from "the deep." At her initial mention of Pincher, the coyote found himself frowning as his gaze filled with both recognition and further confusion. He knew who Pincher was – had heard enough stories about the guy for a lifetime – but he also knew that he very much wasn't the former captain. Still, she wasn't all too far off, considering he was a brother of Roxanne Roux. She seemed to notice this as well, considering her first words once her eyes had finally opened, and she seemed to properly return to the land of the living. They were surprising, but not entirely untrue. Michael didn't consider himself to be traditionally a Roux, but Roxie had welcomed him into her family, and on some level, he and Vandal were related, he just didn't know it yet. Family or not, the coyote did find himself letting out a relieved breath when Vandal sat up properly, finally seeming as though she wasn't just some kind of puppeteered corpse.
At her apology, the reaver just shook his head from side to side, offering the other a reassuring smile before he spoke, "It's really alright... this isn't the first time we've had somebody wash up here, and I doubt it'll be the last... although it seems like you know that." Confirming his suspicions, Vandal soon shook water down from her thick pelt, properly introducing herself as a former member of The Typhoon. The way she spoke of "family" practically guaranteed that she had been here before, and Michael found himself mentally adding another name to the long list of Rouxes he hadn't even known existed. Stretching his own paw out in response to hers in a sort of faux handshake, the thief responded with a low and amused chuckle, "It seems like you're probably right about the related thing. I'm Michael. Michael Townley-Phillips, actually, and it's nice to meet you too. I'm Roxanne Roux's adopted brother... I'm assuming you two know each other?" Unbeknownst to him, the two knew each other quite well, probably even more so than himself and Rox. Not that he'd really be jealous about such a thing. He and Rox had found comfort in each other as thick as thieves siblings, and that was more than enough for him, even if they hadn't known each other as long as some of her other family.
