That was the thing, about anchors, they were temporary things: for a boat was meant not to stagnant at the shore but to float, to drift across the ocean. It was why they were built: the fact that the typhoon had it’s own boat was only a matter of time before it set off again. It’s anchor pulled back into the giant construction, and set from port again.
Law, honestly didn’t patrol most of the jungle, he preferred the beaches and the well carved paths throughout. It was easier to find his way, to keep from getting lost. There was little need to go through the jungle but to seek the soothsayer: who had recently retired. Roan was kind, genuine if a little tired. Now the temple was silent: quiet and a great place to retreat to when Lawkit needed the quiet: to read or to… escape.
It did not come as a surprise to see his mother out and about: it was an often that she would be doing one thing or another. Never staying at home for less than keeping tabs on him and his siblings, when law managed to finally crash to sleep it was never at home. Momma must’ve noticed it. It was more often that He found the raptor- ament making the rounds around the temple and was pushed towards a shredded bed to sleep.
While frustrating at first, it was necessary. He couldn’t find sleep when he watched his siblings, couldn’t find it in himself to sleep at home. So the temple was the next best option.
When he spotted the group- and it was a group now. He saw momma skipping stones: the scent of herbs tucked in the basket by her side, and such volatile spitting around her. Grey eyes skittered over the group- over the open hostility and Lawkit swallowed, self conscious his own wings tucked tightly to his sides- he made a beeline towards his mom. Moving to hunch under the folded wing of their captain and stare out as she skipped stone. Staying quiet, he saw no reason to speak, couldn’t even if he wanted to.
