Veris with abated breath as she watched her brother running forward. He may not be unscathed but he was with her and their parent once more. It was the only thing that made her feel a little bit better about the entire situation.

Of course, she was willing to fight but she loathed the fact that her brother had to, and who knows whoever else had to as well. She promised to herself at that moment that she would train until she was a capable fighter so that she could protect her family and Alithis. Just like her parent is willing to now. It may take a little while to convince the others that she can help fight. Even if it is just to take down the smaller enemies. But she refused to let others fight for her alone. After all, Alithis was her home too!

But for now? For now she was content to sit in the hug with her family. She would hold on to this moment despite the aura of violence and raiders. She didn't want to think of relations with other groups they would need help from, or the impeding fight ahead of them. She just needed her family to know that she was cared for them.
