"Papa..." Leoku buried his face into their scales, taking in the scent of their parent for comfort as he felt the gentle lick from the blind dragon. As it brushed against his injuries, he gave the faintest sign of a flinch due to the sting and fresh nature of them.

"They chased me... I was running so fast, I didn't want to fight... I'm sorry Papa." He was shaking both from rage and from the reaction he knew would be coming from what he had just said. "I caught one... he wouldn't leave me alone- I had no choice... I'm sorry..." Leoku tried to hold onto Bai Shi tighter, wanting to be held and be wrapped up again in safety.

"Please don't be mad..."

This was something that had forever changed the small fox-dragon hybrid. He never meant to harm the other creature so violently... he didn't even know he had it in him. How would his dad react? He wanted to both cry out in anger and in sadness.
