Take what you need while there's time
The city will be earth in a short while
If I'm not mistaken it's been in flames
You and I will escape to the seaside

You and I will escape to the seaside
Diya strode down the beach as she often did, her mind off in the clouds as she strolled. Roxanne was off doing officer duties and covering for Goldie, which left her to do her own thing. She nearly tripped over the man washed up on the beach, a gasp leaving her as she came to a stop. It took a long moment for her to process what she was seeing. "O-Oni...?" she would whisper in shock, memories flooding her as she tried to understand.
She began to quickly lap at his fur, pushing it on the opposite direction in an attempt to get it to dry, hoping he wouldn't grow ill. Where had he come from? Her eyes landing on the necklace set against his throat, she thought to her own tucked against her chest beneath the locket that matched their mothers. Nearly twin necklaces, showing somethings never changed. But, some do. She was no longer that bright little kitten, she was fully grown, littered in scars to show where the world had chewed her up and spit her out. "Come on, Oni, wake up," she whined, pressing her muzzle into his soaked fur.
Fear grasped her hear at the thought of him not waking, of fate being so cruel as to give her back a brother and cruelly rip him from her grasp. The snowy feline whined, nudging at him, begging him to wake.
