☆ HUNG PICTURES OF PATRON SAINTS UP ON MY WALL TO REMIND ME THAT I AM A FOOL. TELL ME WHERE I CAME FROM, WHAT I WILL ALWAYS BE: JUST A SPOILED LITTLE KID WHO WENT TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL —
It wasn't exactly unusual to find Aurum lingering around his sister's home, just on a manner of principle. Ever since the disappearance of Winston, the proxy had found himself coming over even more often, if only to make sure that more faces were not disappearing from the family home. In addition to this, he had been keeping an eye on Moth, not eager to see his sister be any more harmed than she already had been. He was trying to hang back as much as possible, not wanting to be overbearing, but it was... difficult. Ever since Feza's death, Aurum had been horrified at the mere possibility of losing anyone else, especially someone he cared for as much as he cared for Moth. She seemed to have an uncanny ability to run into danger no matter what was going on, and that was hardly an ability that made for a pleasant experience as her older brother. However, Aurum was rarely the type to complain, so be tried to keep his anxieties to himself, just disguising his missions to make sure Moth was alright as warm, family visits. Which, to be quite honest, they also sort of doubled as anyways, since Aurum had never been the type to neglect family.
Speaking of family, the angel had very nearly forgotten that it was mother's day, despite being considered somewhat of a "mother" himself. Although his children never seemed very confused by his status as their parent despite his status as a cis male, he did find that most of them considered him to be a mother figure. Not only because he had given birth to them, but because of his warm, motherly nature. He hardly minded, never really caring much about gendered titles, so if any of his children wanted to give him anything, he would hardly refuse. Even though mother's day mattered little to him, he was glad to see that Moth was being given the recognition she deserved. He had been returning from a patrol with two especially plump mice in his jaws, looking to share a meal with Moth, when he spotted Ivan lingering outside, with a flower crown sat at his paws. Putting his mice down, Aurum looked between Moth and Ivan for a moment before he chuckled, muttering, "Very nice work, Ivan. That's a wonderful gift for your mother." Did Moth really not realize that was for her? Aurum supposed she had never been great at dates, but still.
