Hughes watches it all from the side through judgmental eyes. He understood the leader's hesitance, but he and Roy were accustomed to fighting. It seemed that was all they did, battling for their lives, and in this new world or whatever it was, it didn't seem it would be that different. With all these enemies around, they'd have to be careful. He wasn't worried about the bob-cat, but for himself, rather. While he had his powers of alchemy, Hughes didn't have anything but his claws and teeth. He wasn't even completely sure how to use them effectively.
He's only more intrigued as Starry shifts, his form suddenly much larger. Sure, he had a big, intimidating body--but that didn't mean anything if he didn't know how to fight. His reluctance to even spar was foolish. Shaking his head, he turns his focus over to his friend, trotting over with his own snarky smirk. "Yo, Mustang! Let's be partners," he insists. Roy was bigger than him, and could control fire, but he was only trying to find out what this new body of his was capable of. He was still adjusting to it and if he were to make it, he'd have to learn how to battle in it.
