Michael almost snickered when he heard what seemed to be a faint groan from inside, sure that his sister was desperate to not go out for another night on the town with him. While he enjoyed his drinks, he knew that she hardly took as much pleasure in it, so he had been trying to cut back a bit lately. Still, it was extremely tempting to start teasing her about becoming a domesticated old lady who just wanted to stay at home and read all day. He probably would've, if it weren't for the fact that he was sure it would end up in a tussling match that he would lose. Even if she was back in her smaller form, Michael had never been a particularly good close up fighter – it was honestly a miracle that Ry learned anything from him at all. The thought of Ry made him wince, and he had to internally remind himself not to bring the other male up in conversation as he heard pawsteps approaching the door. He was coming over to make Roxie feel better, not remind her of what was making her upset in the first place. Heart to heart discussions were far from the thief's forte, but he at least knew when not to bring up something. After all, he was practically a master of avoiding tough subjects – Trevor could definitely attest to that.
Broken from his thoughts when the door opened, Michael gave his sister a toothy smile before returning the greeting, "Hey Rox. How's your head?" He waited only a moment before he stepped inside, chuckling a little when he felt Princess scamper from his shoulder to Roxie's paw, overjoyed and enthusiastic to see the privateer even in her pregnant state. He stuck his tongue out at the rat as he pressed into Roxie's cheek, an amused look on the fugitive's face, "You little traitor. I'm the one who feeds you, y'know." When Roxie then mentioned macaroons, the bobcat immediately perked up, his mismatched gaze lighting up with faint excitement. Roxie knew that sweets were the way straight to his heart, and he purred warmly as he pressed into her side that wasn't occupied by Princess, "You know me so well, Rox... I'd love some tea." As he turned in the direction of the sweet smells that usually occupied Roxanne's home, he questioned casually, "So... how have things been? I hope it hasn't been too lonely around here, with all the kids out exploring the Typhoon." He was trying his best to just make idle conversation, not wanting to upset her.
