Once upon a time...
Someone had once told her that her life was almost like a story book.
Once upon a time, long long ago.
I'll love you forever and ever, she had said, and we'll live happily ever after.
The soft, beautiful white face smiled at her, stroked her cheek. She spoke with a voice of honey, laughed with the voice of an angel. She was hers, and she loved her. Oh, she loved her so much. But laughter gave way to tears. The woman that sat next to her was now dying in her arms. That light she loved so dearly was fading. Her heart was breaking.
That beautiful smile slipped away, and she clutched the body closer, a sob tearing from her throat.
Gamelia woke with a start, feeling as if she were drowning in the bedsheets on top of her. Clawing and pulling them off, she was surprised when a tear dripped onto the fabric. The memory was already fading. Why was she crying?
The dragon wiped at her eyes in confusion, and slid off of her bed. Something told her she wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. Her bedroom door creaked as she opened it, slipping into the hallway. Her footsteps echoed loudly off of the walls. It was making her uneasy, and she hurried out into the living room. Maybe she needed some time outside.
Taking care to close the front door behind her, the candied dragon quietly descended the porch stairs and headed down to the sea, listening to the waves crash onto the sand, lit only by the moonlight. But through it all, she thought she heard a quiet sob.
Alerted and concerned, Gamelia looked around until she spotted her. The white fur seemed to almost glow in the darkness, and something about it made her... sad. Was it tied to her dream?
Upon getting closer, she realized the crying feline was Diya. Brows furrowing gently, he paused where she stood. "Diya?" she spoke quietly. "Are you okay?
