Michael frowned and said, more firmly this time, "I didn't want you to get hurt. You were always around protecting me, and throwing yourself into danger... I couldn't let you try and take them all on." He sighed shakily before he pressed further into the coyote's fur, enjoying the warmth that radiated off of him in waves. After a long moment of silence, he shifted his paws in the canine's sparse fur, letting them rest against Trevor's neck. He muttered softly, able to feel the other shaking beneath his touch, "I'm sorry about everything, but... I'm here now. We're both here, and we're both alive, and I'm gonna be just fine, alright? I'm healing, I promise.." He then glanced away, hear rising up beneath his own thick pelt, "And I... I'm glad you're here. I missed you so much... I thought about you all the time. I just..." The bobcat seemed to struggle with words in the moment, his blue gaze darkening slightly. Eventually he just pressed his paws more firmly against the sides of Trevor's neck, attempting to tug the canine down and in close to press their muzzles together in a soft, and chaste kiss.
