Everything stays, right where you left it.
But it still changes, ever so slightly, daily and nightly.
Seeing the relief that slowly spread over Leroy's face at his words was... nice, if Aurum was being entirely honest. For a long period of his life, he hadn't been trusted to do anything by anyone, and had been looked down upon whenever he did offer to do something to help. So to have the leader of the group now looking at him with such happiness, all because he had promised that he would make sure Tanglewood was alright in his eventual absence? Well... it was nice, to say the least. The circumstances weren't the greatest, and Aurum still wasn't sure he approved of what Leroy was doing, but it still wasn't as if he could do anything about it. He'd just have to watch, and wait. If heaven was angry at Leroy for what he was doing, Aurum was sure he would get his comeuppance eventually, no lion related influences needed. Not that the male actually really wanted anything to happen to Leroy. He just knew it was a distinct possibility, especially with the position that they were now both in. Either way, the lion knew he would take care of Tanglewood, though thick and thin, no matter what happened.
Unfortunately, Leroy's pleased expression only lasted briefly, soon to be replaced by an unsure and thoughtful look as the general began to speak of what it felt like to have Christian in his head as well. Aurum's ears were perked up intently to listen, and as he did so, he found himself nodding, reflecting back on the time where he hadn't been completely in control of himself. He mumbled after a long moment, once Leroy had finished and the male knew that he wasn't interrupting, "I... I can sort of understand that. Not exactly, obviously. But I've had moments where I haven't been entirely in control. Like back when I was in that hellhound body. I felt so... different. Like there were two different mes, and one was a lot more in control than the other one. It made it so that I wasn't able to control it whenever I felt my anger building up... I didn't feel like I was the one in charge." The angel sighed and shook his head, saying as he drew his wings in close, "I know it's not exactly the same, but it felt pretty damn similar to what you're saying. I hope that with all this shit... well, I hope you know what you're doing, Leroy. Cause I may always be willing to watch over Tanglewood, but that doesn't mean I wanna see you disappear off the face of the earth because you got into something really bad." And that was... the honest truth. He and Leroy might've had a strained relationship in the past, but now Aurum greatly respected the other, and he wanted this whole situation to work out for the better, rather than the worse.
