▼ I'M NUCLEAR, I'M WILD ▼
With the discovery of Roan, he had assumed that whatever she had felt for him in the past was gone, all their time together reduced to nothing. It made his stomach turn to think that she only saw him as a good friend now, or even that she had been using him all this time. But she wasn't like that. He knew she was better than that. Right? He didn't know anymore.
He hardly noticed she had started to cry, too, eyes guarded by his paws. But when they were pulled away, he whined at the sight of tears running down her face, a paw clumsily reaching out to wipe one away. "Noo, don't cry! I don't like seeing you cry, even though your hiccups are really cute. It isn't worth it." That small sober part of him was cringing, mortified that all of this was happening, that he was saying all this nonsense. But it was honest nonsense. "Yyyyyeah, I know, I'm dumb." he says, nodding his head as much as he can with his chin stuck in the sand.
His face lights up at her confession, elated that the worst wasn't true. No one had replaced him! And not only that, she wished Roan was his! But then his face drops again, purple eyes becoming watery as she goes on, professing that she was indeed still in love with him and that no other guy could replace him. Still, she couldn't trust him, and in the logical part of his brain, he couldn't blame her. But his drunken self pouted.
"I'm telling the truth, I promish!" Greed insists, reaching out for her when she pulls away. It felt good for her to touch him, even if it was a small gesture. He had missed physical contact, but most of all, he had missed her touch.
It was difficult for him to process her as a person, not just something he owned. That was all anyone had ever been to him, possessions that he wanted to keep. Even those that he secretly thought of as friends he still regarded like objects. He was forever bound to his sin of greed.
But, if that's what she wanted, he would try his best.
"Okaaay," the jaguar mumbled, managing to pull himself up into a sitting position. "I'm sorry...I played with your heart, yeah? 'Cause I was scared, I've never really, uhh, felt this way 'bout anyone before. Well, actually I did once, a long time ago." He lowers his head, a far-away look in his eyes. But he quickly comes back to the present to acknowledge her question. What were they?
The expression on her face makes his heart twist. "We can...be boyfriend and girlfriend! Yeah, that sounds nice. Then no guys will flirt with you! Or else I'll beat 'em up!" he says cheerfully, smiling wide like he had just figured out all the secrets of the universe. "But first, I need to puke."
