I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - ROXANNE R. - 01-09-2020 Love.
It was something that had made her full to the brim yet she only had a few tastes of it, she held two men close to her heart although, one had been first to seize her sensitive heart. Their paws had been cupped around her heart rather unknowingly as the said man would fixate their eyes onto other women, it shouldn't have bothered it but it had. The thought of it made her heart ache now as she picked up after Roan's toys trying to keep his playing area clean so if she ever had any guests over they wouldn't trip over them. She eventually made her way to through entrance of her hut leaning against it, she closed her eyes breathing out softly remembering how the both of them had confess their feelings yet time had kept them apart. Roxanne had filled her time of loneliness with the company of other men but, they weren't him no matter how they tried to forget him. Eventually during that time she had hooked up with one of her crewmates, Seámus, and in turn she had conceived the child that she took care of today. Roan had become the anchor in her life making her stable, he had soothed her dangerous oceans that moved with emotion. She had become what other people would refer to as domesticated though she didn't completely agree with that no, there were still things, no, a person who brought out her wilder nature. She shook her head biting her bottom lips with her sharp fangs "Man, it's going to be a lot harder not thinking about you when you're right here in person. . . You fucking idiot," Roxanne pulled her tail up to her face hiding how flushed it was, her eyes would briefly close having a dark jaguar in her mind with a dumb pair of shades. It made her smile behind the fur, she just wanted to take those off so she could look into his mesmerizing gaze and melt under his touch. The thought made her body heat up, she wrapped her wings around herself breathing out gently only to snap out of her brief heated daze. She would walk towards the ocean looking out towards it, her ears angled forward before she took a seat curling her tail around her paws. She wanted to be in his embrace yet they had only seen other two days ago, was it selfish of her? Fuck. Was it greedy of her to want more than just friendship? She didn't want to just sit beside him, she wanted to hold his face between her paws and kiss him. How ironic of Roxanne to feel one of the sins when she was head over heels for one. The sin of Greed. "character's speech." Re: I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - guts - 01-09-2020 [align=center] ▼ I'M NUCLEAR, I'M WILD ▼
He wasn't any more successful in his own endeavors.
During his time alone, he hadn't gained anything but a few scars and the knowledge that, yes, the loner lands fucking sucked. They were full of unfriendly rogues and feral creatures. He wasn't sure why there were some animals with no consciousness while most of them were able to talk and think, but he wasn't about to go out of his way to find out why, either. Anyway, he hadn't gained any riches or new possessions, which was all he really wanted. But he had done a lot of thinking. Surprising, considering the kind of guy he was. Had he come to terms with the fact that he had no true ambitions in this world and he was just trying to come up with something to fill that hole? That, no matter how much wealth he accumulated, how many women and servants he had, he wouldn't be truly happy? No, of course not. He couldn't become a better man when he had no one but the sun and the moon as his companion. It would take someone to help him, to make him see what really mattered. Rather, he had come to accept that he was in love. It had been a shock to him when he first felt it, a flutter of butterflies in his stomach, a heat in his face. He didn't want any of it. She was supposed to be a one-night stand, nothing more, just like the rest of them. But then they crossed paths again, something he should have expected since they were in the same group, and he discovered that she was actually a pretty cool chick. When that croc wasn't following her around and hissing at him all the time, anyway. But, no matter how much he embraced his feelings rather than pushing them away, Greed couldn't figure out what he wanted to do with them. Should he try and make them work? Was he brave enough to be vulnerable, to allow himself to get close to something he could lose? He had lost many things in the past, and while a lot of them didn't matter to him, not deeply, Roxanne was like a goddess that put the stars in the sky. She kept his world turning and he didn't have the slightest idea how much she meant until he came back, saw her face, and fell for her all over again. The first thing that comes to his mind when he sees her is a memory, when they had sat on the beach and talked openly, her confessing that she was into him and him, of course, turning her down. Just friends. But friends didn't look at each other the way they did, didn't get jealous like them when someone talked or slightly touched the other person. No other guy could talk and flirt with her, else his blood boil so hot he started to melt. What a hypocrite. "Hey." Greed says, lightly, as he approaches her, the usual smirk on his face. But it doesn't reach his eyes behind his glasses. "You look awful thoughtful, Rox. What's on yer mind?" he doesn't expect her to be willing to share, of course. It had been a while and he would understand if they had drifted apart. But dammit all if she didn't look as pretty as the first day he saw her. Re: I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - ROXANNE R. - 01-09-2020 Of course, after having Roan, well, she stopped seeing all the men she had seen before and easily stopped any of their flirtatious advances with the help of her crocodiles specifically Kalayavan. She had been stuck in the nursery hut for most of her days only raising her child hardly leaving him even for a moment but, she was well aware that eventually he would grow older and wouldn't want to be cooped up in the nursery. She felt slightly unhappy that the kitten had been made solely of a fling and not from someone she truly loved yet that hadn't stopped her from loving her newfound son, Roan. She wasn't the only one who seemed to have loved the child upon first sight, Kal, had grown rather attached towards the small kitten and always wasn't too far. He made quite the babysitter and was great form of protection especially since now the young boy played outside in the sand underneath the sun. Even if Roan was her anchor, she could still feel herself levitating away every now and then, settling within her own mind. Thoughts flooded her and she drowned underneath them all, she could have done things a lot more differently yet, she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
First love was odd. She didn't think she would have fallen in love with Greed and she had been so certain that she had gotten over him but, when she saw his stupid fucking face again. . . She could already feel that annoying flutter in her chest, her insides churning, and her heart playing a rhythm she hadn't heard drum throughout her ears in what felt like ages. Alas, here she was again feeling her body growing weak and hot at even the sight of him which made her rather grateful that she had been riding on top of Kalayavan during that moment or she would've been a shaking, wobbling mess of a girl. She would be lying if she didn't admit that most of the flings she had with other men, she only had him in mind the whole time. She didn't think of them during their flirty interactions or advances, her mind clouded with a haze, no, it was selfish to them and possibly herself but she only had Greed faintly lingering in her mind. Her head only remembering the day they met and the night they had where they shared a moment of intimacy. One leaving with a broken heart and the other confused. When she had finally confessed her feelings, he had turned her down saying they should stay friends but she knew that he was well aware of the things that they felt or did together was nothing a friend would do to another. She didn't want to think of them as friends with benefits either, Gods no, that only irked her. It was greedy of her to want more then what they had now, she couldn't savor what they had with her heart demanding more. She knew she wouldn't be able to go against the jaguar, she respected his wishes and wouldn't prod. If they knew what they both wanted then Greed would have to speak. The thought of any of the tavern women getting near him made her claws dig into the sand and made her pupils shrink into dangerous slits. She knew it was bad to even think of such dark things but she already felt herself flaring up recalling that Aphra had returned, she didn't want her anywhere near Greed. She gritted her teeth letting out a frustrated hiss until she heard pawsteps did she snap out of her brief 'feral' moment. It was him, it had always been him. She felt her insides tighten for a moment before the sound of his voice made her inwardly shudder, she couldn't believe this. She just couldn't make herself accept the obvious fact that she was hopelessly infatuated with the ebony big cat. She bit her tongue lightly as she tried finding a way to response to him, she trusted him even if he had done things to deter said trust, she opened her maw to speak with a light smile of her own "The future and what it holds, of course, I can only see what it may bring when it arrives. I don't, by any means, have the ability to see what may lay ahead." There was a pause as she took the moment to look in his direction seeing that he had gained a few scars since she had last seen him. Sure, some gals found it hot but it only made Roxanne concerned and worried of how he had obtained them. It made her shift her draped wings that were resting on her body uncomfortably, she had so many of her own and all she felt was self consciousness. She didn't feel beautiful for a single moment after the incident with the tsunami, her eyes lowered themselves to look at her scarred legs, feeling her ears press themselves against her cranium. Eventually, she said with a soft laugh. "And of a dumbass that just won't leave my head." Roxanne's soft gaze lifted and settled onto Greed, she couldn't imagine what he would respond with or even react to what she said though she was certain deep down in her gut, he just had to feel the same way about her even after all those months that they had been apart. She was certain that this love only happened once and well, she wouldn't have had it any other way. She let out a tired, short laugh as she said in a softer, quieter voice "I've missed my dumbass, I'm happy he's back." What was she supposed to do now? Hug him? Let him hug her? All she wanted to do was fall asleep in his arms, she wanted to tackle him down and kiss him all over yet a barrier stopped her from doing so. Uncertainty. "character's speech." (just pretend hes drunk in that first post adgdghss)
He sways where he stands, the world spinning around him in his drunk haze. He wasn't as inebriated as he was earlier, a crying mess slumped over the bar, a heap of black fur that had to be forced out of the tavern because he was 'being a disturbance.' Fuck them, they were the disturbance, not him. That's right. After face-planting in the sand, he wandered about the beach for a while, probably scaring a few passerby with his grumbling, words that began depressed and ended angry. The scene from earlier replayed in his head over and over, a mantra that added fuel to his fire. He wasn't sure what irked him more: the fact that he had looked like an idiot or that the one thing he truly wanted in this world was taken from him. Actually, he had a feeling he knew, he just didn't want to admit it. Already he was trying to choke his feelings back, just as he had done in the past. These damn emotions never got him anywhere good. All they had earned him was doubt, a fear of committing to something he could lose. He was Greed: he never let anyone take anything from him. Maybe that was why he chose to approach Roxanne when he saw her reflecting, a defiance to the fact that she had a child and a partner. He wanted her. Whatever he wanted, he got, he made sure of it. Still, he would play a bit of catch the mouse with her, a distant frown on his face at the words that left her mouth, a contrast to the blooming warmth in his chest. "Yeah? And what does the dumbass mean to you?" he asks, serious despite the slight slur to his voice. The part of him that's still capable of rational thought wants to get away, to leave before he can make things worse. He had been rude earlier, he realized only after he had entered the tavern and took a seat, he had probably hurt her. It wouldn't be the first, and if he stayed around her, it wouldn't be the last. He didn't want that. But Greed continues to stand there, light-headed with ears buzzing, like bees had gotten trapped inside his skull. "Because you mean a lot to the dumbass, and..he doesn't like seeing you with some other dude, and that dude's kid. That's also your kid. But it should be my kid." everything else forgotten about, it all spills forward, punctuated by hiccups. He falls down onto his belly, covering his face with his paws and messing up his shades in the process, but he doesn't care. "I missed you, Roxie! If I had known some asshole would come along and sweep you off your feet and give you a kid, I would have never left! Please, du-dump him and get with me, please?" he begs through sobs, crocodile tears sliding down his face. What a mess. "I'll take care of the cub, I swear! I'll be the best dad ever..." He really wished he could have been all flirty and smooth, like the other times he got drunk. But no, life decided to spit in his face, just like usual. Re: I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - ROXANNE R. - 01-11-2020 I gotcha bud
Her nose suddenly wrinkled at the aroma of alcohol, she could feel her coat bristling as she stared at him. He was not really stable physically and she was about to learn that he wasn't stable emotionally either. She took a step back pressing her ears against her cranium noticing the slur in his voice, it made her heart ache remembering the night they had gotten drunk or well, her. She had been the mess in the scenario, she took a few more steps back feeling her eyes stinging lightly not liking the memory of her hangover and heartbreak the next morning. Yet here he was asking in a serious tone what he meant to her, she could feel the tears slowly rolling down her cheeks as she bit her bottom lip with a small shake of her head "The better question is what does the dumbass feel about me?" Greed already knew how she felt about him, she needn't say anything else is what she thought. Roxanne took a few more steps back feeling her insides burn and her eyes becoming endless waterfalls, she sniffled only to feel her body shake with loud hiccups. She sputtered out angrily lifting her paws to her face to try and hide behind them as she let out hiccups. "I a-already told y-you that I l-loved you. . .B-but you never said you l-loved me b-back that day." She was about ready to leave because this was only hurting her until she heard Greed speak once more, her mismatched gaze fixated onto the large jaguar listening to what slipped from his lips. She was confused at first until the ebony jaguar spoke saying how Roan should have been his kid, their kid. Her gaze cast down to the ground still feeling her small body shake with several emotions coursing through her and flooding her mind, as her brain tried speaking over her heart but her beating organ refused to lose again. She refused to lose him again. She didn't want to lose him but she just couldn't accept him like this. He was drunk out of his mind and for all she knew, this could have been a sad tactic to get her to sleep with him again. Yet, she didn't seem to mind it as it crossed her mind. He would leave her again after claiming her once more as his own, she wanted to feel wanted even if it would be brief. She sniffled staying quiet for the most part unable to look him the eyes, her head turned away from him. His words feeling like claws putting pressure onto her heart, she put a paw near her mouth trying to hide the fact she was crying. "Please du-dump him and get with me, please?" He was drunk, he didn't know what he was talking about or what he truly wanted. After much hesitation and trying to convince herself that leaving him alone here wouldn't make things better, Roxanne approached him with puffy eyes and hiccups shaking her form. "Y-you're so fucking s-stupid, you know t-that right?" She removed his paws from his face so she could look into those eyes she always got lost within, she pressed her nose against his still feeling tears running down her face. "Me and Seámus aren't e-even together, i-idiot, I don't even know the difference between him and his twin, Kian. . . You don't know how much I love you or how much I wish that Roan was born to me and you. . ." She could feel herself shaking once more as she pressed her forehead to his unable to hold her emotions back. It started with one kiss before she began to kiss all over his face, her crying had grown harder as she shook her head lightly "But I c-can't love you like this. . . You're drunk and I don't even know if you truly mean all that you say. I don't want to end up heartbroken again. . . I wouldn't be able to handle it," She sniffles softly holding his face gently only to wipe away at the tears that had formed in his eyes. She didn't like seeing him like this, she didn't like seeing him so sad like a forlorn puppy. "I've loved you since the time we first met, in the log during a storm. I haven't stopped loving you either. Even now as I hold you here close to me, I can't deny the flutter in my chest. I thought I had gotten over you but, I was horribly wrong. . . I tried moving on but, I couldn't. . . All the men, I've seen and met. . . Seámus. . . They could never replace you nor did you ever leave my mind." She mewed, her voice genuine and affectionate in that one moment. She moved her paws away from him, only to look to the side unable to meet his gaze once more as she spoke in a quieter voice "You said we would stay friends but we both know that this isn't friendship. I hate the thought of you seeing other people but you aren't mine and I'm not yours. I don't want to be seen as a piece of property, I want to be seen what I am now; a person." She closed her eyes as a few more tears slipped down her cheeks. "Yet here I am. . . Feeling. . . Greedy. Wanting more. Friends don't do that. . . What are we and how long are we going to play this game of cat and mouse before any of us get hurt any further?" She looked at him with the most pained expression, she proceeded to wrap her wings around her body just wanting to disappear at that moment. "character's speech." With the discovery of Roan, he had assumed that whatever she had felt for him in the past was gone, all their time together reduced to nothing. It made his stomach turn to think that she only saw him as a good friend now, or even that she had been using him all this time. But she wasn't like that. He knew she was better than that. Right? He didn't know anymore.
He hardly noticed she had started to cry, too, eyes guarded by his paws. But when they were pulled away, he whined at the sight of tears running down her face, a paw clumsily reaching out to wipe one away. "Noo, don't cry! I don't like seeing you cry, even though your hiccups are really cute. It isn't worth it." That small sober part of him was cringing, mortified that all of this was happening, that he was saying all this nonsense. But it was honest nonsense. "Yyyyyeah, I know, I'm dumb." he says, nodding his head as much as he can with his chin stuck in the sand. His face lights up at her confession, elated that the worst wasn't true. No one had replaced him! And not only that, she wished Roan was his! But then his face drops again, purple eyes becoming watery as she goes on, professing that she was indeed still in love with him and that no other guy could replace him. Still, she couldn't trust him, and in the logical part of his brain, he couldn't blame her. But his drunken self pouted. "I'm telling the truth, I promish!" Greed insists, reaching out for her when she pulls away. It felt good for her to touch him, even if it was a small gesture. He had missed physical contact, but most of all, he had missed her touch. It was difficult for him to process her as a person, not just something he owned. That was all anyone had ever been to him, possessions that he wanted to keep. Even those that he secretly thought of as friends he still regarded like objects. He was forever bound to his sin of greed. But, if that's what she wanted, he would try his best. "Okaaay," the jaguar mumbled, managing to pull himself up into a sitting position. "I'm sorry...I played with your heart, yeah? 'Cause I was scared, I've never really, uhh, felt this way 'bout anyone before. Well, actually I did once, a long time ago." He lowers his head, a far-away look in his eyes. But he quickly comes back to the present to acknowledge her question. What were they? The expression on her face makes his heart twist. "We can...be boyfriend and girlfriend! Yeah, that sounds nice. Then no guys will flirt with you! Or else I'll beat 'em up!" he says cheerfully, smiling wide like he had just figured out all the secrets of the universe. "But first, I need to puke." Re: I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - ROXANNE R. - 01-11-2020 The feeling of a large paw reaching out to wipe her tears away made her sniffle, she briefly caught his paw with her own petite ones wishing this could be forever. She missed his touch yet, she didn't feel happy with him touching her while he was drunk. She pushed his paw away finally hearing what he began to say to her. A pained smile crossing her face as she looked at him with such sorrow, she shook her head lightly. All the shit escaping his mouth wasn't the usual honey that attracted the bee, no, it was drunken gibberish that was accompanied with crocodile tears. Insincere. She bit her lip hard to the point where it began to bleed feeling frustration towards herself and Greed, she felt like she should be angry yet Roxanne wasn't able to force out the emotion. Sadness clouding her thoughts and breaking her strong will. He speaks about telling the truth yet all the words that he spoke were now flying over her head as she stared at him feeling her heart wrench within her chest.
"We can...be boyfriend and girlfriend! Yeah, that sounds nice. Then no guys will flirt with you! Or else I'll beat 'em up!" Droplets of blood and salty tears dripped onto the sand beneath the both of them, her eyes puffy and red from all the crying. Her hiccups had somewhat quieted down, she gritted her teeth finally standing up with her entire body puffed up as she released a hiss "IT'S NOT THAT EASY, GREED! I'M NOT GOING OUT WITH YOU IF YOUR'E IN THIS KIND OF STATE!" She turned away from him with her ears pinned to her cranium, her gaze slightly blinded by the tears that kept coming "I want genuine love. . . I want my Greed. . . This isn't him." Hearing that he was going to puke wasn't necessarily a sight that she wanted to see, she spread her wings once more and took to the skies like a bullet, she was going home. She had a son to take care of and frankly, she didn't want to watch after a drunken toddler. ***
She had cleaned up after the incident, she had already tucked Roan into bed and now she laid in her own staring at the ceiling unable to find sleep herself. She closed her eyes slowly only to start to hum to herself in a broken voice "Mister Sandman. . . Bring me a dream. . . Make him the cutest that I've ever seen." She turned to her side bringing her tail to her face starting to feel the tears coming to her eyes, she wasn't able to sing the rest as she laid there for a good moment. She began to head to the entrance of her hut noticing the moon was being reflected by the ocean, she drew near looking at the calming waters. Her bottom lip caked with blood, she sat there by herself staring at the moon. She supposed it would be one of those lonely, loveless nights once more. Part of her wanted to go to the taverns and give herself away just for the night, the other half, well, she was broken and staying in place. She was fragile as glass and she had already shattered. She would lower her body to the ground only to rest her head onto her scarred legs, she sighed quietly with small shake of her head. She thought that she finally understood love during this whole time but, maybe she was getting it all wrong? Was she being clingy? She felt as if she was trying too hard on a relationship that didn't exist anywhere but within her heart. The only other time she had felt wanted or someone had wanted her to be with him was her past partner but the thought of him unnerved her, he had always made her feel uncomfortable. She recalled the time he had pulled on her horns to make sure she always looked at him or tugged at her wings telling her how the street cats wouldn't accept her for being a freak, that they wouldn't "love" her like he did. She had been believed him for months before the day came where he lashed out at her calling Roxanne a needy, clingy broad. She had apologized frequently that day hoping he wouldn't expose her hiding spot, he left her with a laugh leaving his maw. She remembered staying inside the entire time having fear in her heart that she wouldn't make it. She had made it out alive but Zephyr, her former partner, hadn't. When he returned, Roxanne wasn't the sweet girl from before but rather an animal, a starved animal with only thought; eat. Long story short, she had her first meal in weeks and had gotten a taste for flesh of other sentient creatures. It hadn't bothered her back then like it did today but, she hadn't starved herself in a good while since the incident. She had the worn out cardboard box beside her opening it slowly to look at the possessions, Roan had made her snap out of her depressive daze that moment. She knew they made her feel vulnerable and uncomfortable but they hid the ugly parts of her body, she slipped on the leggings only to drape the scarf over her back feeling her entire body beginning to tremble. She felt miserable. Vulnerable. But most of all, she could feel his presence already hearing his cocky voice making fun of her. "character's speech." He leans back when she says such angry words to him, ears folding back as his heart drops inside his chest. What was so complicated about it? Sure, maybe he never had much experience with relationships beyond those that were simply made for his own benefit, but it couldn't be that difficult. His first, and last, serious relationship had come naturally, but they had both been young and naive. His siblings had seen the end of that quickly, a fact that made his being boil with anger any time he remembered. But they weren't here to ruin the good things for him, not anymore.
His chest tightens at what she says next, the corners of his eyes stinging. He calls out to her, the desperate plea of a drunk man that goes unheeded. "Roxie!" Then he's falling and kicks up sand when he lands face-first. Sputtering, he turns his head, facing the waves as they roll onto the shore and then retreat. He feels the need to cry, the tears at the back of his eyes, but he can't bring himself to weep again. Pathetic, he thinks, nose wrinkling. Maybe they had been right, Father and all the others. He was useless. All kinds of emotions washing over him, heavy currents much like the ocean that spread out before him now, Greed just stays like he is, laying on the sand. Somehow, after a while, his turmoil quiets enough to allow him to fall asleep, lulled by the crashing waves and warm sun on his fur. When he wakes up, the sky hangs overhead like a dark blanket and the stars flicker, distant lights winking in and out. His head throbs, a groan escaping his dry mouth as he sits up, paw massaging the side of his head. For a moment, he can't remember what happened, everything a blur against the hangover. But all too suddenly his peace is interrupted, the memory coming back to him in almost painful clarity. He winces. Dammit, why did he have to go and act like an asshole? It was just what he was good at, he guessed. But he didn't deserve to wallow in self pity. The jaguar rises to his paws, leaving his shades as they are on top of his head as he walks along the beach, not interested in going back to the boat and confronting the emptiness of his room, shadows reaching and highlighting all of his loneliness. At least she had a lively little one to keep her company. He shakes that thought from his head with an angry grimace, heat coursing through him. Leave it up to him to fuck it all up as soon as he comes back. //mobile Re: I KNOW THOSE EYES / groxie - ROXANNE R. - 01-15-2020 Maybe she shouldn't had been harsh to him, she couldn't think of how she had left him and hearing his drunken plea had definitely tugged roughly at her heart strings. She bites her lips feeling her ears press themselves against her cranium, a sad frown on her maw as she pawed at the sand underneath her. Her mind eventually drifts off to the day, she had met him and then how they had bonded over calling Jacob the name of a cartoon character, the dislike for Caesar, and simply the way she immediately clicked with him. It drove her nuts, Greed made her mad but he always knew how to make her happy too. He was a dork and even if he didn't like being called a dork by anyone other than herself, well, she knew deep down in her heart that she loved the dork. He wasn't just a dork, he was her dork. And she had pushed him away.
She ripped off the leggings and scarf off of herself, she had to go find him. She couldn't bear the thought of losing him again, Roxanne didn't care if the ocean swept away her belongings because she wasn't about to lose someone who made her feel like she belonged and was worth something. She could only imagine where he could have gone to but she was already running as fast as her tiny legs could carry her, her eyes darting back and forth trying to find his dark coat underneath the moonlights touch. Maybe she hadn't been running fast enough, she could feel her form growing larger as big paws crushed the sand that was underneath her. Where was he? Was he already at the tavern? Was he still in the place she had left him? Various questions swarmed her mind and buzzed, her eyes finally spotting a moving figure. Roxanne stops in her tracks and could feel a bit of hesitance overcoming her, all the feelings she had tried to smother into the past were now overwhelming her. She breathed out slowly into the cold air, the jaguaress taking a few steps forward only to stop for a moment 'Roxie. . . Don't fuck it up again.' She thought to herself only to feel her limbs moving once more, she opened her maw to say something "Greed!" The jaguar was already drawing near and she spread her wings out briefly, leaping out towards the darker jaguar. She attempted to tumble with him and pin him down with her paws if she had succeeded, she would look down to him with slightly teary eyes and a soft smile "I shouldn't have left you there and I don't think I'm going to leave you now either." She would then shrink down into her birth form, pressing her nose to his neck and hugging him tightly. "I'm so sorry. . . I shouldn't have yelled at you or gotten angry at you but all the things I've said back there. I meant every last word about loving you and I don't want anyone else. I only want you, you're the only one that lingers in my mind and the one who gives me sleepless nights. And loving you this much hurts with how badly I am in love with you." She would breathe quietly as she let out her feelings spill out like an overfilled wine glass, she didn't know if he truly did want to be with her but if he did well, she wouldn't deny him a second time "And if you were serious about being y'know. . . I'd love to be your girlfriend so then I," Her tone growing rather playful "Can beat up anyone who flirts with you." Her heart racing at that moment, she was prepared for any answer that would be given to her. She deserved whatever would come from this, she would accept harsh rejection after her behavior towards him. "character's speech." As empty as he felt whenever she wasn't around,
a part of him was glad that she had reacted the way she did, a sadistic part of him rejoicing in the fact that maybe she had finally had enough of him. What had he done to deserve such a lovely girl like her, anyway? It was for the best. He hurt her multiple times in the past, and he wasn't ready to do so again, pain being the only thing he could see himself causing had she embraced him. He was a player, so to speak, someone who was good at keeping your bed warm at night but would be gone by the time you woke up. There's a bitter taste on his tongue when he remembers back to when he had done that to Roxie herself. But oh how he longed for her still, despite it all. He wanted to hold her, to be there for her when she felt down, to dry her tears, and most of all, to show her just how much he cared for her. He wanted to be the object of her affection, just like she was his. The jaguar sighs, dark pelt blending into the dark around him as he watches the tides, calm and seren under the night sky. It was a good night to make a wish, to dream of something he knew he shouldn't have. Just before he could make a wish upon a star, the words just on the tip of his tongue, someone calls out his name. It startles him, head whipping around just in time to catch a glimpse of warm fur, a blur of color crashing into him. He lands hard and braces himself for claws and teeth, ready to feel the pain, to defend himself against whoever this may be, but no hits or bites ever come. He recognizes her quickly, a face that he hadn't seen often but one that was still burned into his mind. He swallows hard. He's somewhat surprised that she hadn't come to berate him, chastise him for being such an idiot. No, instead she was here with a smile and teary eyes. He wasn't sure which was worse. "Roxie," he says, quietly, as if he was unsure. He tries to brush off the additional bit of surprise from her sudden shifting; he had seen weirder. "don't apologize. I deserved it, y'know, for being a dumbass." He curses the way his voice strains with emotions, and the way his face heats up when she nuzzles into him, holding him tightly. Stop it. He hopes that this is just a dream, but at the same time, he would be so happy if it was real. "I'm-" he starts, then stops, scrambling to figure out what to say, or at least how to say what he wanted to without sounding like a big cliche. "I meant it, too. I, uh..Heh, I'm not used to saying out loud. Sorry." Greed takes a deep breath, filling his lungs with air until they burned, then released it in a hard exhale. "I love ya, too, Rox." Once it leaves his mouth, he knows there's no taking it back. But he doesn't want to. Wrapping a large paw around her, he holds her tight, his chin pressing into the back of her neck. His heart is beating so fast he fears that it would explode. Even if it did, he would die happy. "Damn, what did I do to deserve a girl like you? I guess I'm just real lucky." //mobile |
