NOTHING SWEET 'BOUT MY MISERY -
♕tags-powers♕
[OOC: ]
It was going well until their second sentence. Kydobi’s ears pinned backwards when he heard them mention Idyll. As they continued he nearly pulled back, but found he couldn’t. He just froze. In all honesty he was shocked. He feared rejection but part of him had believed this would go smoothly.
But it hadn’t, and he was surprised but quickly realized that this was his life. What had he expected? This was how it always went. He was foolish to think his luck had changed just because he had died and started anew.
What they said made no sense. Bai shi wasn’t just some half-hearted fling. This was real, he meant it. He didn’t desire anyone, he hadn’t even wanted Indie. She was just a distraction, something to get him to stop thinking about Bai and Idyll.
If you loved someone you didn’t want anyone else. At least if love existed, that’s how he believed it worked.
So going by that logic, he figured Bai didn’t truly love him. It was one sided, at least that’s how he saw it.
He would remove his head, trying to hold in the tremors of a breaking heart. A hot cocktail of hurt and anger. No longer with gentleness, he would stand up and step away. Avoiding their gaze.
His lusty thoughts were all gone. First family? What? Didn’t they understand that he came here with nothing? That if he didn’t have those children... that without Bai he really had nothing?
Kydobi’s lip quivered and he would say nothing. Eyes stung but he wouldn’t cry, although dark tears dangerously pooled along his waterline. Trying to calm himself down, “Anyone but them.” but their inability to let the damn coyote go was all Kydobi needed to do so.
He would make the decision for them then. He wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of having two fools, “I guess we were never meant to be.” he said coldly. He locked it all away.
“They can have you.”, he was hurt truly, and while he wished to play it off as nothing he knew he would cry the moment he was out of sight.
He hadn’t even told Bai the news, “I have greater things to worry about than playing some sick game of tug of war with my heart.”
Uh oh, two whole steps backwards. Was all that time really a waste? His face quivered and he would turn suddenly and disappear.
He couldn’t control the tears but he would never let them see it. Now invisible to the naked eye, he would quickly make his way down the way he came.
And what could he do now?
