The later into the night, the less populated the library. Tanglewood housed a fair share of bookworms, after all. Of all the buildings however, regardless of how many were inside, the library was the least likely someone might try to talk to her.
Funny, how horrible the solitude was for moons within a cell, but outside, she avoided social contact like the plague. Funny, she'd never consider herself shy. Only her voice stuttered -- at least she could talk -- and too much conversation drained her.
She'd been so friendly before. She still was, she thinks. Just. More quiet than ever.
But she never lost her passion for books. For stories. Perhaps that was the reason she never flinched away from the sound of Torren's voice. Ever friendly. Polite. A voice that enjoyed reciting stories and talk about the stars.
Even though she had been in the middle of an interesting book. Her snow white ears perked. Everything about her now shone white. The splashes of gray she typically bore disappeared during the coldest months, under a thicker, snow-colored pelt. Kiira supposed she didn't mind, even if she could hardly even tell it'd gotten colder save for the ice and snow outside.
Her paws, stable for the moment, followed the sound of her friend's voice. Curious. Perhaps he found a book he wanted to share. He really should be sleeping. A hypocritical though, she knew but... "Hey."
"Hey-hey Torren. Wh-what is it?"
Her unmatched hues danced, landing inquisitively on the shine of silver. A necklace?
