Keona's head turned on a light swivel, pale hues blinking as she registered Hushsound's presence. She caught his scent first but his consideration of her was always polite and she would never complain.
She took in his words quietly. Considering them. Indeed, she could not watch the waves. The thought had never occurred to her before. She supposed the pastime of watching the flow of water must be enjoyable then. A common pastime. One she bet her father may enjoy, actually.
As though her mind conjured him from the very ocean depths, her father's bright voice cut the air. His very presence reminded her and her brows creased. Slowly, Keona raised a paw, listening to the ocean's rhythm.
As her breath stilled, a small wave rose up from the water. She felt it. Heard it. Then let it go. A sharp splash echoed in her perked ears as the water rejoined the natural flow of the waves.
"I like bein' close to the water," she murmured.
She offered a sheepish smile. Likely, both Hushsound and Kian must know how dangerous the ocean was for someone who can't see. But she could hardly be close enough to connect to the water like she did from on board the Tempest. The creak of wood and overlap of nearby voices... It was all too loud. Too distracting.
Close was better.
